Report
Hospital Application: Regulatory Agencies By: Sheyriya Dean Grand Canyon University: HCA-460 Professor Steven D Arnett January 22, 2024
The Vice President has just provided some information in this scenario about the new law's provisions pertaining to employees and how Medicare, Medicaid, and the Department of Health and Human Services have expanded their supervision over all hospital operations, particularly regarding the receipt of all required reimbursements (Allied Health, n.d.). This essay will discuss how the hospital administrator selected the vice president of human resources to take on these new responsibilities rather than the vice president of accounting, how the vice president of human resources will stay up to date on current and upcoming government agency rulings that impact the hospital, how medical coding and billing will be affected, how and where the vice president of human resources finds methodologies in compliance with the agencies, and more. It will be imperative for the Vice President of Human Resources to constantly monitor the legislative procedures. To completely comprehend rules and expectations, it will also be crucial for hospital attorneys to communicate effectively with one another. Rarely do legislation passed by Congress include precise wording. The American Nurses Association (n.d.) states that the federal agencies oversee using the regulatory process to put the legislation into effect. Enrolling in the Federal Register and studying the Code of Federal Regulations will help the Vice President keep informed. carry out these additional responsibilities rather than the Vice President of Accounting. When working with government payers and reimbursement papers, medical billing and coding will require greater precision. To get paid correctly, medical coding and billing specialists need to be 100% accurate, particularly when categorizing patient procedures. Incorrect coding frequently causes insurance denials or billing delays for patients, facilities, and doctors, adding to the workload and aggravation for all parties. Additionally, there will be a need for more rigorous
medical coding and billing procedures, especially regarding documenting payments from government payers. To ensure compliance with rules, the Vice President of Human Resources can employ government-provided guidance. Certain authorities offer magazines or emails to assist hospitals in staying up to date with regulations. The hospital administrator made the right decision by appointing the Vice President of Human Resources to handle these new responsibilities instead of the Vice President of Accounting. As the head of Human Resources, you have a better understanding of your staff. This job demonstrates a commitment to engaging people, listening to their feedback, and developing successful teams.
