BrainCheck Renewal Role Play Submission
What was your overall experience on your first renewal call as an Account Manager?
This roleplay was a little difficult because I was unsure of what kinds of issues my partner might have been having with their contract. Once I was able to identify those conflicts, I worked to resolve them, but my partner was firm in their stance that they did not want to renew the contract
until the issue was at least resolved. This made it hard for me to talk contracts and terms, but I was able to get a little pushy and after a few tries get the conversation started about the contract even if no resolution was made immediate with a signature, just a general agreement to terms. What did you find surprising or interesting and why?
I wouldn’t say it was surprising, but the client had more of an attitude this time around, which caught me off guard. I also noticed just how hard it was to get the deal across, since they were so
uninterested in hearing what I had to say. I had to get pushier.
How did the Account Manager role differ from prior calls in previous roles as Development
Rep/Account Executive?
My client was more hostile this time around, which made it slightly difficult to compromise. I had to work harder to keep them engaged since they were uninterested in coming to a deal agreement in the first place, and instead just wanted to cancel. In previous roleplays, it was easier
to come to an agreement since the other party was invested in an outcome involving braincheck, rather than the alternative.

clarification, but that didn't really help.
While you and your grandmother were eventually able to
figure out how much she owed and when it was due, you are
still bothered by this experience. With your knowledge of
visual perception—as well as your understanding of how
culture, emotion, and cognition play a vital role in our
interpretation of our visual experiences-you decide to
contact the Billing Supervisor about it. You realize the
importance of the feedback you want to provide, so instead
of simply hoping to remember everything to say in an
impromptu meeting, you decide to write…

“At the beginning of the pandemic, many of us moved our workstations into our home offices while the craftworkers and operators pushed through in the field, in most cases, with little slowdown. As an industry, we needed to develop lifesaving protocols, procure the necessary materials, and educate ourselves on how to continue to work and stay safe during a pandemic. Only through careful, precise and frequent communication would this be possible.”
Considering the statement above, discuss the importance of project communication as well as the communication process in project management environments. Discuss how effective project communication can lead to increased productivity on projects.

You are the CPO for a major social network. You have just listened to a sales pitch from a data broker with a proposition to buy detailed data about your roughly 100 million users for $10 million per year. This is an arrangement the data broker has already entered into with two of your competitors. You are in your last semester of college and have been looking for a job. You have registered with the placement office and posted your résumé online, but the jobs that are available leave a bit to be desired. In one of your classes you overhear a classmate, Bernardo, talking about an interview he had last week. Bernardo said that he really wanted the job but didn’t think his interview went particularly well. He is currently waiting to hear back from the employer. As Bernardo was describing the position, you thought it sounded very interesting, but you wondered if it would be right for you to pursue the position since Bernardo had found it first.
Question: Should you apply for the job? Should you wait until Bernardo hears from the employer?
