Isaac A. Castillo (101371892) Glenn Smith George Brown College MARK2053 February 16, 2024 Were you Twin Lakes or Town of Tamarack for this negotiation? In this negotiation I was playing the role of Town of Tamarack alongside Britney Silver. How did you like it? I felt in this negotiation it was way more hectic and complex simply because there were multiple different personalities negotiating instead of a one on one. With that, both my partner and I did have to talk to each other or refer to each other when it came to the negotiation part, with the pre discussion we did mention points we were going to state and go along side with those points all throughout the negotiation. Who had more power in this negotiation? I felt like in this negotiation Twin Lakes had more power simply because we were the Town of Tamarack going to them to negotiate things the town needed in addition to not wanting to close them down either because they are the main company we deal with. Overall, I did feel like since there was that leverage against us, we took take into advantage and used our strengths to balance and have a proper negotiation with the other party about the points we needed to bring up. How was this negotiation similar and different to our other negotiations? It was similar to other negotiations I’ve had prior because there tends to be one person from each side talking one at a time, both parties listening to the needs, wants and askings from the other party. Also, the mixture of personalities is similar to other negotiations simply because you do not know the style of negotiator you’re dealing with from the opposing party. What was different was there were more people this time, more things to take into account and negotiate about, we had to take in different factors and what we were willing to lose or give up for something else which is what I haven’t encountered in previous negotiations.
