Core Values Developing and achieving personal and professional goals requires identifying meaningful core values. These values are personal ethics or ideals that guide you when making decisions, building relationships, and solving problems (Keiling, 2023) . Leadership core values are principles that direct decision-making and provide direction to a team. These values inform people how to interact and impact the focus of a business’ work or the individual responsibilities within their organization. Leadership is not just about achieving results, but also about inspiring and motivating others. Therefore, the three core values that support my leadership mission and brand focus on motivating others. Clear communication is the first core value that supports my leadership. I believe that effective communication is essential in building trust, fostering collaboration, and achieving shared goals. Effective communication skills enable leaders to clearly define the goals of their team members. It helps leaders articulate their vision and ensure that everyone is on the same page, working towards a common objective. Leaders can increase productivity and efficiency by fostering open communication with their teams through successful communication skills. The second core value that supports my leadership style is empathy. Displaying empathy towards everyone is of utmost significance. When people felt their leaders were more empathetic, 86% reported they were able to navigate the demands of their work and life— successfully juggling their personal, family, and work obligations (Brower, 2021) . I suggest that we should always try to put ourselves in other people's shoes to understand their feelings and emotions as well as to treat them with kindness and compassion. This enables deeper employee engagement and increases retention rates by showing respect and listening to employees.
