WEEK 7: Case study On Ethics
Good evening Professor and class,
If I was leading a team that was working on a new procedure for the production line I would start with having each of the employees looking at the production line. The employees would be able to utilize principles from Lean Six Sigma and Project Management to look for opportunities for improvement. After each of the employees have done their surveys and made observations we would have a meeting and see which observation was the most noted or place of concern. Assuming that there is a consensus regarding the procedure or issue then we can start planning. This is there the
project management component would come in. We would device a plan and then break the plan down into steps. As a team we would need to determine if the steps would need to be done in order or if there are steps that could be done simultaneously.
There would also need to be discussion on if other groups such as IT or Logistics are needed to facilitate the tasks in question. Once the steps have been determined then I would utilized a project management software like Asana to allow everyone to stay abreast of the steps and timeline. I would also schedule meetings (either in person or virtually) at fixed intervals throughout the development of the new procedure. Once the new procedure has been determined I would have the people who developed it perform the task from start to finish. I would also obtain input from the people who are completing the new procedure on a regular basis. I would utilize software was well
as regular meeting to keep my staff accountable to make sure that they complete their objective.
reliability of the findings. When making decisions, researchers and their teams should follow ethical standards and the truth rather than chasing media attention or personal gain.
In another approach, Elizabeth might have asked the media if she could still speak on this matter. She might have explained that the research was still in progress and incomplete, and provided information once completed. In trying to find out if this is an ethical practice, I found no clear answer, so my suggestions may not be valid.

TO DO: Prepare a check sheet to analyze the data below from customer complaints, then prepare a list of recommendations that will address these complaints.
Case:
Tip Top Markets is a regional chain of supermarkets located in the southeastern United States. Karen Martin, manager of one of the stores, was disturbed by the large number of complaints from customers at her store, particularly on Tuesdays, so she obtained complaint records from the store’s customer service desk for the last nine Tuesdays.

Training at Hailey’s Construction
Shobana, Hailey’s Construction, Sales Manager, read the memo she has just received from Kavelan , the Training Manager, and said to herself,” No way! I’m not going to let Kavelan get away with this. Last month, hhe insisted that 15 of the salespeople spend three days on a course on Quality Control conducted by a trainer. I had my hesitations, but I sent them anyway. On their return, they grumbled constantly about what a bore it was and how their time had been wasted because the content was totally irrelevant to their jobs. Now Kavelan wants another 10 participants. Well, he can just find them somewhere else!”

Case Study: Quality Management
Your line manager has become increasingly concerned about the product and service
quality. This results from a surge in the number of customers who have contacted her to
highlight problems they have encountered while shopping at the Pet Kingdom store. The
complains seem to focus on two areas; billing errors being made at the checkout and
variations in the weight of Pet Kingdom branded dried dog food bags. To better understand
the situation, Ms Lionheart has requested detailed data to be collected. Table 3 shows the
data from the audit of 50 random bills per day issued over the past 30 days. Table 4
presents the weight sampling data (mean and range in kg) for 27 random samples of five
observations each taken from the daily dog food deliveries.
Ms Lionheart noticed that the number of billing errors increased in the last third of the
month. She knows that the company wants high quality standards and wonders if both
processes meet 3 sigma standards. She wants…

CHURCH INFORMATION SYSTEM
XYZ Church is a fast-growing church in Grand Rapids area. Over the past three years, since the popular Reverend Timothy Becker has taken over leadership of the congregation, the church has more than doubled in size. It now has approximately 400 registered households. Reverend John Howard has also recently been added as a second minister. Since the Church was rather small in the past, most of its records have been kept on paper forms. However, the Church’s Business Manager, Margie Roberts, has suggested to Reverend Becker that a computerized system might help the Church better meet its information needs and manage its activities.
In addition to Ms. Roberts, the Church employs a part-time administrative assistant, Mabel McGregory. Mabel performs clerical duties such as filing, record keeping, answering phone calls, and typing the weekly church bulletin using WordPerfect for Windows on the Church’s only personal computer. A retiree, Leroy Stricty, is…
