2 Reflective Overview on Selected Courses Embarking on this reflective journey, I find myself compelled to articulate the profound impact of four key courses within my academic program, each contributing distinct facets to both my professional and personal growth. Amongst the courses still open for review lay, ENTR210, BUSN202, MATH302, and ENTR200. These courses have not only fortified my theoretical foundations but have also translated into tangible skills, applicable in real-world scenarios. As I dig into the reflective overview of each course, I will elaborate on a few of the objectives, briefly touch on how these were met through coursework, and expound on the practical implications of the knowledge and skills gained. This introspective exploration aims to encapsulate the essence of my academic journey in my bachelor program, showcasing the alignment between course experiences and my evolving career objectives. Course 1: ENTR210 - Entrepreneurs as Leaders ENTR210, "Entrepreneurs as Leaders," has been a transformative course in my academic journey. The objectives of the course were complex, ranging from ethical decision-making to understanding various ethical theories. One of the key objectives was ethical decision-making, and I vividly recall the Merrill's Decision-Making Process, emphasizing economic impact, brand alignment, worst and best-case scenarios, opportunity cost, gut instinct, and team input. This framework has been instrumental in shaping my approach to decision-making, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of choices in both my personal and professional life. Think of the whole picture before embarking on a selective path. Ethical theories, such as Utilitarianism and Kantianism, provided a solid foundation for ethical considerations within my career, home life, and future goals. Developing a code of
3 ethics/professional conduct was a practical exercise, guiding me to align my personal and professional values with the mission, industry standards, client respect, and clarity in communication. The course also probed decision-making related to hiring the right people, covering aspects like employees, vendors, suppliers, and contractors. These insights proved invaluable in understanding the dynamics of team building and resource management, as well as gaining a better understanding of the workflow dynamic. This acquired knowledge has a direct impact in my current role as a project manager, fostering a culture of ethical decision-making and ensuring meticulous consideration in hiring processes. ENTR210 has enhanced my ability to navigate ethical dilemmas and make informed decisions that better align with organizational goals. Course 2: BUSN202 - Leading in the Technology Age "Leading in the Technology Age" (BUSN202) provided a deep dive into the impact of technology on leadership and how to best understand its many uses. The course covered crucial objectives such as IoT and Disruptive Technology, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies. The exploration of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Disruptive Technology equipped me with an understanding of the interconnected digital landscape and its potential disruptions. Cybersecurity discussions covered the fundamentals and legal aspects, enhancing my awareness of safeguarding digital assets. The section on Artificial Intelligence (AI) clarified its concepts, types, and applications, allowing me to better appreciate the implications it may have on business and leadership. The
