Under your relevant State or Territory WHS legislation, what responsibilities for the practices in the workplace does the employer have? List five (5) responsibilities.
Consult the staff before making decisions that could affect workplace safety
• Making sure that everyone on staff is aware of their responsibilities • Keeping track of all workplace accidents
• Supplying the necessary safety clothing and equipment 2.
Under WHS legislation, what responsibilities for the practices in the workplace does an employee
have? List four (4) responsibilities.
• Engage in the employer's OHS compliance programmes
• Avoid recklessly endangering their own or others' safety;
• Prevent their actions from endangering others' safety by taking reasonable precautions; • Take steps to protect their health and safety.
3.
Why is it important that as an employee, you participate and understand your responsibilities with regards to WHS practices? * You have a duty as an employee to accomplish all tasks; each person can avoid a workplace accident by ensuring that safety precautions are in place and readily accessible. It goes without saying that participation in and awareness of all requirements linked to WHS procedures are essential. Employees can improve the workplace by following instructions, however for a safe and secure workplace, these steps must be followed exactly. /var/filecabinet/temp/converter_assets/4d/25/4d257a036603c1ce6ddaafe0f72365084ac0d40c.docx

4.
What is the purpose of the WHS committees in the workplace? * The two primary elements of the WHS Committees' purpose in the workplace are their function and their responsibilities. According to section 72 of the OHS acts, members of WHS committees are in charge of addressing and resolving work-related health and safety issues. One of the HSC responsibilities that could help to lessen issues at work is allowing members to begin, design, and implement health and safety management procedures. helping the employer and the employees coordinate their activities.

Using mechanized tools
and equipment can lessen the strain on the body when moving goods from one location
to another or using great power to removed
something.
Hands
Without hand protection, there is a risk of hand injuries from hot engines, sharp objects, chemical burns, cuts, and other sorts of wound.

Case Study – The New Engineer
Jeff was just hired by GSI, Inc. to be their Environmental and Safety Coordinator. This is Jeff's first position after completing his engineering degree. He had taken a course in safety engineering as part of his studies and felt confident that he could handle the job.
Management at GSI, Inc. has assured him that they are committed to maintaining a safe workplace. They have never had an individual dedicated to this task full-time. They will implement his recommendations if he can justify them.
As Jeff begins to get familiar with the operations, he spends considerable time on the production floor. He notices workers clean their tools before break with a liquid from an unmarked 55-gallon drum. They also use this liquid to clean residue from their skin. They use paper towels to dry their tools and hands, throw these towels in the trash, and head to the break room for a snack and/or smoke.

You are a biomedical engineer working for a small orthopaedic firm that fabricates rectangular shaped fracture
fixation plates from titanium alloy (model = "Ti Fix-It") materials. A recent clinical report documents some problems with the plates
implanted into fractured limbs. Specifically, some plates have become permanently bent while patients are in rehab and doing partial
weight bearing activities.
Your boss asks you to review the technical report that was generated by the previous test engineer (whose job you now have!) and used to
verify the design. The brief report states the following... "Ti Fix-It plates were manufactured from Ti-6Al-4V (grade 5) and machined into
solid 150 mm long beams with a 4 mm thick and 15 mm wide cross section. Each Ti Fix-It plate was loaded in equilibrium in a 4-point bending
test (set-up configuration is provided in drawing below), with an applied load of 1000N. The maximum stress in this set-up was less than the

You are an engineer working on a project and your prototype has failed prematurely. You question whether or not a key component of the prototype was manufactured with the correct material. There are two way to check for the material properties. The first way is to have a material certification done to confirm the exact material composition. This will take some time. The second method to confirm the material properties is to make an ASTM test sample and test for the material properties. This tensile test was completed on a test sample with an initial diameter of .501” and an initial length of 2”. The Load-Deflection data for this tensile test is below. Use this data to answer the first set of questions on the Final Exam in eLearning. A. Determine the Ultimate Tensile Strength B. Determine the 0.2% Offset Yield Strength C. Determine the value of the Proportional Limit D. Determine the Modulus of Elasticity E. Determine the Strain at Yield F. Calculate %…

Please double check before rejecting this question. If it needs to be rejected, please explain why as I cannot see how this is a breach of the honor code.
This is a questions from the previous year's exam at my university in Engineering Science. I have submitted a solution given to us for study purposes as proof that I will not be graded on this assessment.
In this solution, the formula (2gh)1/2 is used to find the solution, but I am on familliar with Bernoulli's Principle (P=1/2pv^2+pgh), and I was not able to find a solution using this. My solution incurred an error when I found that I had two unkown variables left that I could not break down in any meaningful way. (Velocity being the desired variable, Pressure being the problematic variable). Pressure = Force x Area, but I don't know enough about the dimensions of the tank or tap to be able to understand this.
Thank you for your help.

Calculate %…arrow_forward
