First to the Eagle gold mine that is located in a remote area of the Yukon, Canada. Then to the Venetia Diamond Mine in South Africa. Part A – Eagle Gold Mine Figure 1 – Location of the Dublin Gulch Property that hosts the Eagle Gold Mine (Victoria Gold, n.d.) Visit and tour the Eagle Gold Mine at the following link: https://vgcx.com/virtual-tour/vr-tour-of-the-eagle-gold-mine/ Answer the following questions: 1. Click on the Open Pit Location and watch the videos Mine to Mint and 360 Blast then Heap the videos on the Leach, and Gold Recovery Plant . Describe in detail (minimum ½ page) how they get the ore out of the ground, move it to the Heap Leach Facility, and recover the gold from the ore.
2. Click on the 3D: Eagle Deposit. Rotate the view and look at the ore body from below. The yellow orebody shape was determined by resource estimation using the drill hole information. Describe the orebody shape, orientation and size. You can use the scale and north arrow on the map to help you with this. Why do you think the proposed open pit mine does not take all of the orebody? 3. Click on the “Eagle Camp” and review the facilities that are provided. List the facilities and discuss why a camp is required for this mine? 4. Exploration is necessary to ensure that the mining operation can continue beyond the mining of the first orebody.
