Questions to answer:
1.
According to Federalist paper Number 51, summarize the author's ideas about angels
and men in your own words and why is this apparently significant to the author?
The author's ideas about angels and men in Federalist paper number 51 is “if
angels were to govern
men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary” The author says this
because human error is what is wrong with the government and if angels were to govern men there
would be no human error. This is significant to the author because it shows that they believe that the
only flaws in government are caused by human error. This also shows that men should not be running
the government.
2.
Read the first two sentences paper number 51, evaluate how the author wants to avoid
one department of the government acquiring too much power.
The author wants to avoid one department of the government from acquiring too much power is
through making sure each branch of government is in mutual relations so that each branch can keep
another branch from coming out of their place and trying to take too much power.
3.
Read the third paragraph, evaluate two solutions that the author presents which will
guarantee that a strong federal government will be successful.
One solution the author presented was to guarantee a strong federal government do you create
different parts of government that hold different powers over each other but have their own special
privileges that they must take care of. A second solution presented by the author was to prevent the
oppression of society by its rulers which were resisting injustices period
4.
Create an argument that defends the creation of a powerful national government with
limited powers.
Your response must be 6-7 sentences long.
Must have two relevant facts from the document above.
Must have a clearly stated main idea that is relevant to the topic.
Since humans are very flawed they need order and structure to have a successful society. If humans
were angels they would not need the government because angels are behaved and do not need
structure as flawed humans do. Since humans are not angels they need a powerful government that
limits each person's specific power but also creates a place where they can work together. Creating a 3-
branch government with each branch having control over each other and their own special powers and
duties will ensure that society will be under more control and oppression will lessen. This equally
promotes order and prevents overbearing power and meaning it is perfect to keep humans controlled
since they are not angels.
