Perspectives on Personality: Loren on Roles, Goals, Models and More After watching Loren talk about his memories and development, answer these questions: 1. What influences does Loren talk about in relation to his development and the development of his personality? Loren’s parents were divorced and he was raised by his mother. He ended up teaching himself a lot of things due to his unstructured raising. He credits being raised by her to his independence. He thinks very highly of himself despite it not showing on the outside. 2. Discuss the role of any behavioral concepts such as social learning, behavioral observation, or aspects of self-efficacy or locus on control in Loren’s description of his development. In other words, what behavioral processes can you see at play in the development of Loren and the way he is today? He rambles a lot and has ADD. He also notes his anxiety as well. He also credits his pun- making to one of his mother’s ex-boyfriends who always made puns. 3. When you think of your own development, what roles, if any, do you see behavioral or social learning processes has having played? For example, do you see any examples of reinforcement, modeling, or observational learning in your own development that have influenced the person you have become? My mother has the biggest influence on my life. I have a lot of anxiety and OCD because of her. She always loves a clean house and never stops finding new ways to freshen up her home. Now that I am in my own home, I am always doing the same.
