Grantley Garner Rel C 471 Assignment 10 Isaiah 60: 1-5, 19-20 Start off by showing the following image of light vs darkness and ask what they notice, think of when they see, or words they would use to describe the image. o o How does this relate to Jesus Christ and what He can do in our lives? Read verses 1-3 and ask how the darkness and light will appear in the latter-days. o Relate the image of light and darkness into their lives – what is something in your life that feels overwhelming like unto the darkness? Read verse 4 asking what is the promise the Lord gives us amidst the darkness? Read verse 5 asking them what they notice will happen as we strive to continue forward. Read verses 19-20 again asking the other promise that the Lord is extending unto us o How is the Lord going to bring us out of darkness? He will give us His light where we are at and help us navigate our way back to Him! Show image of Christ holding a candle and ask them what this image means to them.
Briefly share the story of the Brother of Jared and the Jaredites crossing the sea and the stones that produce light in their barges. Share Ether 6:9 on their attitude while crossing the darkness. Close with the Jeffery R. Holland quote: “No one can fall lower than where the light of Christ shines.”
