Religious issues in your future career
My career path is dental hygiene, a field where a licensed Dental Hygienist carries out a variety of tasks to assist patients in achieving and maintaining good oral health. By doing initial examinations, taking X-rays for patients, helping other dental staff members throughout a dental appointment, and supporting dentists. Dental hygienists need to be trustworthy and able to establish rapport with patients of all ages. You should be well-versed in the pertinent health and safety regulations and have a keen eye for oral abnormalities and disorders. The aim of this paper
is to evaluate data on religious ideas towards oral health. Numerous racial and ethnic minorities worldwide, including in the US, bear an excessive burden of oral disease. Religious Beliefs, values, and behaviors are frequently cited as root reasons of inequities in oral health, although little is known about the depth or sufficiency of research on these topics. This topic has made me understand that in this particular field, religious factors could have a significant impact on a person's oral hygiene.
Individuals from particular religions frequently have low oral health status, “according to reports on the condition of oral health in US populations”. There is no guarantee that someone who belongs to a religion will have bad dental health. It does, however, imply that there might be
some cultural practices and ideas shared by members of these groups that have an impact on their
oral health status, such as expectations regarding preventive or therapeutic measures or importance put on having healthy primary teeth. Cultural variables may have a significant impact
on a person's health as well as the health of people they care for, such as the elderly and even children. It is significant to note that there are significant disparities in attitudes and practices between and within each religious group, which can have an impact on health status. Demographic traits are frequently linked to such discrepancies.
The multiplicity of religions in the world's population presents difficulties for medical professionals and systems in providing care that is sensitive to cultural differences. The ability to
provide healthcare services that satisfy the patients' and their families' cultural, social, and religious demands is known as cultural competence. Care that is culturally competent can lead to better patient outcomes. Providing cultural competency training and creating policies and procedures that lower obstacles to providing culturally competent patient care are two strategies to help health professionals and systems advance towards these goals.
We are living in a world where healthcare must always be given while respecting religious freedom. Everyone gains when healthcare professionals take the effort to comprehend a
patient's religious beliefs and how they could influence their capacity to receive treatment. . In the workplace I should be able to keep in mind the many religion/cultural practices that are present and to keep and to understand their care. I have to be able to keep in mind of the lifestyle and composition of for example, priests and monks that are frequently fasting, and that frequently live in remote locations with limited access to dental care. Monks are individuals who practice religious asceticism through monastic living, that is, in the current study, individuals
who are celibate, continuously resided in a monastery, and consumed meals prepared in the monastery. Priests are people who are religious leaders with the authority to conduct religious ceremonies were allowed to have families and consume food that was prepared at home. When preparing in the workplace to treat these clients it is important to acknowledge and understand their backgrounds.
