If staff members of these institutions have engaged in sexual activity with any of the facility's patients, residents, or prisoners, they could face ISA charges. The penalties for ISA are rather harsh. This is so because workers are accountable for the wellbeing and safety of people they interact with. The inability of the victim of sexual assault to leave the facility compounds the severity of the charges.
