2 Cross Cultural Practices When Working with Diverse Populations In this essay I will be covering a local agency that the social workers and staff need to use and implement cross cultural practices professionally. I will also research their mission statement and what their vision statement is and how they are applying it to their practice. The clientele will be discussed based on race, culture, and ethnicity. Cultural norms will also play a part in this essay. I chose City of Racine CPS to do my essay on. The Vision: A healthy, educated, and empowered Racine County. The Mission: To promote independence, protect the vulnerable and encourage wellness. They offer many services that will help their clientele achieve the highest goal potential. Some of the services they offer and coincide with their vision and mission. Mental Health Drug Addiction Diagnosis and Treatment As we know, mental health and addiction go hand in hand and does not affect just one culture, race, or economic status. They offer court mandated treatment as well as individual sought treatment. The plans to build a larger complex that will accommodate inpatient and outpatient treatment. This is to take place in the next year. They offer transportation for medical appointments and medication pick up.

All cultures and races are treated the same if they apply for these benefits. o Job Assistance They have people capable of helping with resume writing, computer classes and job search. o Becoming a Foster Parent with Kinship and Foster Care o Child Care Certification for providers With the needs in many communities these are some of the most important services that can be offered. No matter the background all children need to be safe and well cared for. These services help provide the necessary precautions to ensure the well-being for all involved.
