Zaragoza 1 Adriana Zaragoza Mrs. Delama EDEL 100, Period 2 08 March 2023 Standard One Standard 1 is focused on keeping the students on track and supporting all students in learning. A teacher can use their ideas or real life experiences to help students. They connect the learning to the learning of the student and background in the students interests. They make an effort to use all resources, even imagination, that have diverse student needs. A teacher can use critical thinking through problem solving and reflection with assignments. They must also add student interest in the lesson plan and be prepared to change plans while teaching. Children will most likely be interested in blocks for first grade. If there is little interest in blocks, the teacher could change to another object for the kid. Examples of standard one can be a teacher starting to teach about symbolism from books or passages. Most children have read before. Students would start talking right away about past books or readings. This is because their memory can spark a conversation. They will start asking questions and the teacher could start connecting it to an assignment. I think memories keep the students engaged. They may not get the symbolism at first, but with refreshers from the teacher students can start to develop critical thinking, finding some things out on their own. Memories can help because there is symbolism in students from different backgrounds and at different levels. So the teacher can keep engaging the students while they build strong critical thinking skills.
