2 Categorical Variable The descriptive statistics for the variable of education category in the afrobarometer dataset uses mode as the measure of central tendency because the variable is categorical (Frankfort-Nachmias et. al., 2020). Based on the valid percent of respondents, it can be seen that most respondents received secondary education by 34.4% out of the total 14437 responses. The least amount of respondents received post-secondary education at 12.9% percent of total respondents. The mean for age (Q1) in the data set used for this week's assignment is 37.17. Based on the results of this data, the implications for social change include how respondents' level of education can negatively impact their socioeconomic status and identify key issues for access to higher education that can make progressive changes to reduce poverty. 3 The continuous variable’s measure of variability is standard deviation because it shows how varied respondents' age is from the mean (Frankfort-Nachmias et. al., 2020). The mean is 37.17, showing a variance of 14.551 which is highly variable from the mean and a reported variance of 211.728. The youngest age of respondents is 18 with the highest age being 100. The
