This transformation has prompted educators to adopt a more culturally responsive approach to teaching, recognizing the importance of addressing the unique needs and backgrounds of their students. In this essay, we will analyze and discuss the impact of shifting demographics and cultural diversity in education. This article on culturally relevant teaching gives us a comprehensive analysis of different methods to consider when teaching in the classroom.Culturally relevant teaching is a way to “empower students intellectually, socially, emotionally, and politically by using cultural references to impart knowledge, skills, and attitudes” (1994, p. 18). Shifting demographics require teachers to employ a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of their students.
