2 Family and Society No other point in human history, with the exception of the Roman civilization, has marriage been so heavily attacked and distorted from its original design (Bennett, 2002). In today’s world of progressive politics, the concept of the nuclear family is seen as an enemy of sexual and societal progression. However, this familial system is not only healthy but beneficial for the survival of civilized culture. The contents to follow will explain in detail why the heterosexual two-parent system is biblically, civically, and psychologically the best institution of child development and spousal cohesion. The Bible says in Genesis 2:24, “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh” (Genesis 2:24, KJV, 1769). The concept of marriage is design by God to be between a man and a woman. As humans who share in the generational curse of sin, everything created by our hands is subject to decay and destruction. Homosexual families, for example, are unable to produce the living fruit of biological children. While it is possible to have a surrogate parent or donor substitute this flaw, the child created is a mockery of biblical conception and unaffiliated with at least one of their parental units. In short, the Bible gives instructions for marriage and family in such a way as to continue the generational and biological heritage of both parents, solidifying an unbreakable bond between all parties involved. Human love is subject to condition but connection through blood is infallible. Civically speaking, nuclear families sustain social order. Using the black community in America as an example, it is estimated that the single parent rate of black families is 65% with 60% of all violent crimes being perpetrated by said broken individuals. With these statistics in mind, it can be speculated that children whose parents are incarcerated or absent exhibit
