1. Explain the importance  of developing information literacy skills. Developing information literacy skills allows you to become more resourceful and utilize those resources you have access to become more knowledgeable about a subject or find an answer to a question or provide correct and information. These skills are not only important professionally but, also in navigating everyday life. 2. How have your  information literacy skills  changed as a result of  the resources  in this module? The resources in this course have shown me the evolution of how to access resources and the importance of information literacy and how it applies to everyday life and not just your work life or in a professional setting. 3. Choose the sources  that were the most impactful to you from all resources you covered in this module. The source that was the most impactful to me was the “Concise Guide to information literacy.” This is because everything was broken down to give a background of information literacy, why it is important and the steps on how to find and validate information needed. 4. How might having strong information literacy skills  impact your academic or professional career ? Having strong information literacy is important in both academically and professionally because both areas require you to be resourceful. Being a Psych major there is always going to be the question or how, why, when, where and who and we may not always know the answer especially right away but, being able to know where to go to find the answer and making sure the information is factual before passing it on is the most important part. The same can be applied professionally, even in my current area of work often questions will arise that you may not have the answer to at that moment but, you know how to find it.
