Chapter 5 1. What teaching strategies should be used with the gifted and talented population? In addition to meeting their specific social and emotional requirements, teaching strategies for gifted and talented children should be created to both challenge and encourage their advanced talents. For instance, provide access to advanced courses or topics or specific instruction to match each student's unique learning needs. Technology could also be used to improve and expand learning opportunities. 2. What is ADHD? What are some effective teaching strategies that can work with students with ADHD? An ongoing pattern of hyperactivity, impulsivity, and inattention that may interfere with day-to- day functioning and growth is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD. This is a neurodevelopmental condition. It might be difficult to teach students with ADHD, but there are ways that can help. Clearly define your schedule and routines. Divide work into more manageable, smaller portions, and instruction in organizing techniques, such as the use of checklists and planners.
