CATS: Assessment: Definition Hi Class, In your own words (not a textbook definition), define validity as it relates to research. Richard Hello Professor, My definition of validity would be getting expected results from how information is gathered on the subject. When a question is asked about a topic, there should be a result from that inquiry. That result should match an assumption of the subject. The matching of results and assumptions gives the study validity. The study is invalid if the results do not correspond to the beliefs. The results from the research must be in line with reality. Validity is an element of research that should be examined at the beginning of the research process. The researcher must pick a methos to get appropriate measurements for valid results. The method should be based on knowledge from existing research. To discover the traits of a subject, a questionnaire is the best way to get valid results. The population should be clearly defined to get accurate results. There must be enough subjects to be adequately representative of the population. Failing to do so can lead to sampling bias and selection bias. Middleton, F. (2023, June 22).
