Respond to a classmate assigned a different article than you by further supporting their critique or respectfully offering a differing perspective. Thank you for your post! You did a respectable job summarizing and evaluating the research article you read and explaining the relationship between research and social change. A purpose statement describes the research and summarizes the overall goal of the research study (Burkholder et al., 2020). Wilhelmy et al., (2016) purpose statement identified the overall goal of the research is to ascertain if a modified version of the TPB produces knowledge on hand hygiene attitudes and practices, and if it forecasts self-reported infectious disease, self-reported hand hygiene behavior, and associated absenteeism as well as to provide guidance for the creation of interventions among workers in comparable public work environments. The identification of the research approach was not within the purpose statement but in the study's title. Theories describe, explain, predict, and challenge phenomena, providing the study's foundation. The research problem identifies the issue that the study is aiming to address. This should be aligned with theory by linking the research problem to the existing literature (Burkholder et al., 2020). The purpose of the research is to explore, describe, and explain. Alignment between the purpose and problem ensures consistent research goals (Babbie, 2007). In conclusion, attaining alignment guarantees that the research project makes sense, improving its coherence, consistency, and transparency. Wilhelmy et al. (2016) study seeks to ascertain if a modified version of the theory of planned behavior (TPB) produces knowledge on hand hygiene attitudes and practices and forecasts the hand hygiene behavior, infectious illness incidence, and related absence of employees. The purpose was to utilize a larger sample size in a public university setting to determine if the TPB creates an understanding of hand hygiene and to develop interventions among employees in similar places. Due to TPB's success in the past, Wilhelmy et al. (2016) linked it to the purpose and problem of allowing knowledge and understanding of hand hygiene within a different setting. References Babbie, E.
