Key Takeaway from Research Proposal I learned a great deal about the many methodologies that researchers may use to gather crucial information for their study. Finding materials to assist the research and more importantly, figuring out the techniques to employ to get the data required for the study seemed challenging at times. This class equipped me with the knowledge of how to properly complete a research proposal. How My Proposed Research Would Inform Social Work Practice My proposed research will demonstrate that the issue of having social workers in the prison system is needed. It would show data on why it is needed and prove that the issue can be rectified with immediate intervention and advocacy from social workers. One limitation of my study would be getting a prison to agree to work with social workers who advocate for the inmates and allowing them access to assist the facility to give what is needed for inmates individually instead of a one size fits all mentality. I would address this issue by being very clear and professional with the prisons and share my intentions, while following their policies and procedures.
