1 GROUP VS FAMILY ASSESSMENT Alexis T Hinton SOCW-6121 Dr. Kalomo December 17th, 2023
2 The family system theory states that external influences, such as a person's place within the system, can have an impact on their performance. Other considerations are the expectations that come with familial connections and the conflicting emotional demands of the roles involved. The video highlights Pam as one of those featured who, upon rejoining the group, discovers that Henry, one of the fresh faces, is the one who nearly ended her life. The video illustrates family dynamics through social integration, cohesiveness, and communication. The goal of the family system theory is to evaluate the patterns of interactions and provide a perspective based on reality's events. Relationships between individuals and how they interact with one another within the family circle are impacted by family dynamics. Group dynamics have a crucial role in fostering a strong sense of unity. Group dynamics involves a variety of principles. The video does a good job of presenting group dynamics. The group as a whole and each individual member are impacted by a number of significant group dynamics. Through employment, the armed forces, education, social groups, sports, and other activities, every member of society is a part of a group (Toseland & Rivas, 2017). Enhancing group cohesion, performance, and communication can be facilitated by acknowledging how groups function and potential issues. These dynamics are influenced by both verbal and nonverbal communication, internal emotions and the thoughts that accompany them. Knowing group dynamics enables one to see how each individual's behaviors make sense given the situation. Several principles are utilized in this situation, such as the perception principle, which emphasizes the group's prestige. This idea clarifies the significance of the group. The notion of perception has been adhered to in the video. The readjustment principle, which argues that member delegation and readjustment are acceptable means of allowing a change in the group norms, is another principle upheld in group dynamics.
