Homework Data Analysis 4a
Homework Data Analysis 4a Results Section This study compared the level of complaints about wicked witches in four regions: north, south, east, and west. For the null hypothesis ( Ho ), the groups are not statistically significantly different; but in the alternative hypothesis ( Ha ), the groups are statistically significantly different. A two-tailed hypothesis was used in this study because there was no specific direction as to where the significant difference might be observed. The one-way ANOVA was used to test the hypothesis of the four different region samples with the dependent variable being the complaints. There was a significant difference among the four regions for complaints about wicked witches: F (3,16) = 10.49, P < .05. The post hoc testing has significant differences between North ( m = 1.00, SD = 1.23) and South ( m = 1.40, SD =1.14), which have fewer complaints than the East ( m = 3.60, SD = 1.14) and West ( m = 4.20, SD = 0.84). The confidence interval obtained was between 1.74 and 3.36, indicating that there is no zero value. The null hypothesis ( Ho ) is rejected because the data shows there are more wicked witch complaints in the East and West regions. The effect size was analyzed using the Partial Eta Squared = .663, which is a 66.3% variability in complaints about wicked witches by the regions in which people lived. Overall, the East and West regions have the most complaints about wicked witches.
