Evaluating Web Sites: A Checklist
You MUST complete a checklist for every website you use in your research.
Why evaluate web sites? No one judges the quality or accuracy of information found on the World Wide Web before it is published, so you must evaluate what you find for yourself. Some sites are created by experts; for example, NASA’s website is authored by scientists who have expertise in the field of space science. However, the vast majority of World Wide Web sites are designed and authored by non-experts.

I am glad to present our report on “Analysis of Centennial College’s Online Portal”. I would like to thank you for being available to help at all times. I would also like to thank Taranjeet Kaur for her collaborative work on this report.
I asked if there were any authors presented on the website and if they gave credit to any sources. Another question was if I could find any credible external links. I also asked what information was held on Easywhois and Way Back Machine, such as the update process of the website. Other questions were what the domain of the URL looked like, what the website design looked like, and what the writing style was like.

In order to evaluate each site and ensure they were designed to reach the same target audience we had to first determine what their target audience was, we accomplished this by asking a couple of questions about each site. Some qualities of an effective website include easy accessibility, physical attractiveness, accuracy, and credibility. An example of an effective and successful website is the Toronto Wildlife Centre website. Toronto Wildlife Centre (https://www.torontowildlifecentre.com/) is an organization that promotes stewardship, conservation and protection of our nature. Its mission is to promote the peaceful relationship between people and wildlife by education and care of the wild life. In this report, the Toronto Wildlife Centre website is evaluated and analyzed in detail based on three criterial topics of authority, objectivity, and technicalities, to determine the overall effectiveness of the website.

Hunting for the correct information is not a problem with the University of Alabama in Huntsville’s (UAH) website. While some websites lose their users among clutter or badly named tabs, UAH’s website keeps their visitors interested and on track. Since these visitors are usually families exploring the school, it is important to have an efficient website. Without this efficiency, a prospective student could be deterred from further pursuing the school. As a college website that provides information and services to prospective students, current students, and parents, the University of Alabama in Huntsville’s website successfully contains pleasurable design, vibrant readability, and fluent navigation.

The main process that was used to ensure the validity of the information in this assessment and the reliability was to firstly check the basis for all sites. For example, if the site was a ‘.ORG or .GOV etc. This infers that the information came from an educational or government source, which most have to be approved to be put up as a webpage.
Perhaps one of the greatest inventions of out time is the Internet. Without a doubt, the net has had a profound effect on almost every aspect of our lives. The formation of the Internet has changed the way we do business, communicate, entertain, retrieve information, and even educate ourselves. Nevertheless, the Internet might have never materialized if it had not been for some innovated thinkers from the Advanced Research Project Agency, who created "ARPANET." In collaboration with several educational and research institutions, the agency created the packet-switching technologies that form the basis of the Internet today.
For the majority of people, it is difficult to imagine what life would be like without the internet. The world of education has also undergone tremendous change since the advent of the internet. It allows students to quickly obtain a vast amount of information on every subject. They also get the convenience of going to class and completing assignments, permitting them to schedule their time with great flexibility. The internet has become one of the easiest, fastest and most effective tools that can be used to explore and comprehend more about the world; however, it is not without problems.
