What is better organic farming or conventional farming? This is a question that all farmers face. Each type of farming as it's own benefits and disadvantages. Organic farming and conventional farming are different in many different ways. I know farmers from both sides. I know farmers who practice organic farming and I also know farmers who practice conventional farming as well as some farmers who use a combination of the two types of farming. But I have never really know all of the differences between the two types of farming. This paper will include about what each type of farming is, it's benefits and disadvantages, and how each type of farming compares with the other.

Conventional farming has only been around since the late 1800s and didn’t become very popular until after World War ll. Conventional farming is almost a necessity in the world because without this farming practice, organic farms couldn’t produce enough food to feed the entire population. This is why conventional farming is so important with it's high production. Most conventional farmers also use genetically modified seeds, concentrated animal feeding operations, tillage, irrigation, and monoculture, which causes some people to not have very good views about conventional farming. Conventional farming can be highly productive but can be bad for both the soil and the consumer because of all the chemicals that were used in producing the product. This means that conventional farming can be good temporarily and for a short period of time but isn’t a good long term option.

Now the question is how do they compare with each other and what are their advantages and disadvantages. One common misconception about conventional farming is that the food and crops aren’t as healthy as organic foods. According to a stanford study, they concluded that “There isn’t much difference between organic and conventional foods, if you’re an adult and making a decision based solely on your health.” But a different study at Newcastle University concluded that conventionally produced crops
