The luxury brands under Accor Hotels are Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel, Onefinestay, Mgallery, Grand Mercure, The Sebel, Pullman, Swissotel, Novotel, Suite Novotel, Mercure, Mama Shelter, Adagio/ Adagio Access and economy and economy brands are IBIS, IBIS Styles, IBIS Budget, and Hotel F1("Accor", 2016).

Macro environment is crucial to the development of a company. All the external factors can have huge positive or negative influences on Travis Perkins plc, therefore a better understanding of the environment of the company is of supreme significance (Peng & Nunes, 2007). Among all the analysis tools, PEST analysis is one of the most effective tools to analyze the external environment of a company (Riley, 2012). The PESTLE analysis can be used to assess the strategic relevance of the six principal components of the macro-environmental: political, economic, social, technological, environmental, and legal forces. It can be used as a tool by companies to better understand of the macro- environment they are operating in.
The Marriott brand has 30 brands in the hospitality industry under the Marriott umbrella and they continue to expand all over the world. Marriott owns around 4,200 properties in 80 countries, and those numbers continue to rise each year. Marriott describes the brands as “individually distinct and collectively powerful.” Marriott’s brands he brands are broken up into the categories of “Luxury,” “Premium,” “Select,” and “Longer Stays,” and within each category they’re further broken up into “Classic” and “Distinctive.” Diversifying the product line, creating new products, and splitting large stock-keeping units into smaller ones both ensure that the parent brand will evolve to meet the demands of consumers and make it much tougher for the retailer to supplant the species with a store label.
The environment is like a double-edged sword, providing companies opportunities but threats as well. Therefore, in an increasingly hostile marketplace, a systematic and careful environmental analysis is supposed to be considered by companies (Johnson et al, 2011). The macro-environment of a company can be analysed by the framework of PESTEL, which includes six categories: political, economic, social, technological, environmental, and legal (Johnson et al, 2011, Appendix A ).
With this in mind, the PESTEL model was developed to give researchers and practitioners a framework in which to consider the broader business environment. PESTEL stands for Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental and Legal. Furthermore, a PESTEL analysis is a technique that evaluates the potential impact of political, economic, social, technological, environmental, legal factors on an organization. This set of factors represents a broad set of industry and environmental considerations that any organization should make when designing strategic goals
The environmental analysis can be understood with the help of the Porters Five forces Analysis for the study of the internal environment of the company and the PESTLE Analysis is studied for the purpose of knowing the external analysis of the company or to know the external environment of the company(Al-Moneef,1998).
External analysis of general environment will be done using PESTEL which refers to how the political, economic, social, technological, environmental and legal environment affects an organization. Below will be a diagram of PESTEL, followed by a brief explanation of each factor and their examples.
