People think that we are hurting the animals but we just wanna save them from sickness and us too. First, If we test on the animals we can help them with diabetes and breast cancer. Next, we can make more medicines to help us with sickness. If we have a pet at home we can use that medicine to help them. Last, From testing animals we can help them and save more. Animals sometimes don’t know what they do sometimes so we want to help them. Finally, it’s not to harm the animals we just wanna see how we can help animals and people from sickness.
We can help our pets or animals with sickness or problems. “Experiments in which dogs had their pancreases removed led directly to the discovery of insulin, critical to saving the lives of diabetics.” First, since we tested on dogs we were able to help animals with diabetics. If we didn’t test on the dogs than a bunch of animals would have diabetics. “Doing testing has helped us to breast cancer, brain injury, childhood leukemia, cystic fibrosis, malaria, multiple sclerosis, tuberculosis, and many others.” Next, from testing on the animals we were able to help them with diseases. From us not testing on animals than some of the animals would have gone extinct. “The polio vaccine, tested on animals, reduced the global occurrence of the disease from 350,000 cases in 1988 to 27 cases in 2016.” Last, the more we test on animals the more we get to help them. The animals think that we are hurting them but they don’t know that were trying to
Animal testing is a cruel way to try and develop new products. There are several other and much safer options that will get better results and potentially save up to two million animals every single year. The Animal Welfare Act is in place but only minimally protects certain animals and leaves many others, up to 95%, vulnerable to atrocious fates. The animals not protected by this act (mostly small or considered house pets) are most widely used and not related closely to humans. There are several alternative methods but they are being neglected since they are new and not being enforced because of it. A few countries and states have banned certain aspect of animal testing but others are encouraging this cruelty.
There are so many products being tested on animals , from being lipsticks, shampoos, makeup, skin care etc. But have you ever wondered the side effects these animals experience while using these products? They will experience Burning, torturing, pain, hunger, thirst etc. How is living in a cage living? It's not it is just surviving.
To begin, experimenting on animals is good because it helps to create medicines and different health products that are safe for humans. It is crucial to human health. It saves millions of human lives each year. It helps scientists to develop various drugs, vaccines, and antibiotics. Professor Sir George Radda explained in the article “Animal Research: A Necessary Measure” that “Animal research is essential to tackling major twenty first century health problems such as cancer and heart disease. Without the use of animals it would be impossible, in many cases, to develop drugs or any sort of medical treatment” (Radda). Testing on animals is something that is needed to be done to create many different health and medical products. As the quote explains, it has helped experts a lot with tackling the problem of cancer and heart disease. In addition, animals closely resemble humans, which helps scientists to create different medical treatments, and ensure that they are safe for human use. That also helps doctors in the surgical field, to make sure they do not mess up. As Rebecca Weitz explained in the article “Animal Research: A Necessary Measure,” that “Surgical protocol for modern day kidney surgery was only made possible by first experimenting and perfecting it on dogs. Potential cures for cancer that are currently underway would not be possible without the availability of animal experimentation” (Weitz). This quote shows that without the use of animals, various medical treatments would be very difficult, and maybe even impossible. Animal experimentation provides a safe zone, and not having it for things could be potentially deadly. It also makes doctors able to perfect things like surgery without harming humans. Overall, animals play a huge role in making sure
Although many people agree with testing products on animals, they ask ‘Who else are we going to test our products on?’ Nobody! Don’t add harsh chemicals in the products and then the animals and humans are both healthier. Beyond millions of animals that die and are captured every year just from animal testing alone. Treating an animal cruelty is never okay, especially when they’re torturing the animals with harsh chemicals due to testing. If people would stand up and try to protect animals we’d be saving certain animals from becoming extinct and we’d also save a ton of money.
For many years, the field of science has used animals in medical experiments worldwide, because of this innocent animals are being killed everyday. They are being tested with new drugs, new treatments, and by many makeup companies. Connecticut recently celebrated the passage of the “Beagle Freedom Law”, a law that requires laboratories to work with charities and rescue groups to find homes for research cats and dogs. Animals are being tested so humans do not have to be but animal tests do not reliably predict results in human beings, although animals are the closest thing to humans. Most experiments involving animals are flawed, wasting the lives of innocent animal subjects. Over 100 million animals suffer a year from testing. Testing animals is a lot more expensive than alternative methods and it is wasting government research dollars. Animal testing is not only a bad idea, but it is also inhuman and it should not be tolerated. The FDA should stop allowing animal testing. An animal does not give out the same results on a test than a human would.
Humans aren't the only species that benefit from testing. Several methods that have been developed to prevent diseases in humans have helped the lives of numerous animals (Murrary). Experimentation on animals has educated people on how to better care for animals and has also allowed humans to gain an understanding how they function. Several antibiotics, drugs
Imagine an animal’s feeling of panic and fear as it is about to be killed by a hunter or the isolation experienced as an animal sits in a laboratory, separated from its family and natural habitat, waiting to be harmed by harsh testing methods. Imagine the frightened state of a mother or father watching their innocent baby being captured. After considering the brutality towards animals in these scenarios, take into consideration the health benefits humans receive from different parts of these animals. Imagine health risks avoided through testing on animals first instead of on humans. Does human benefit justify
We have cures and treatments for diseases because of animal testing. The laws that are there to protect animals from mistreatment are good too. Since animals lifespan is so short it’s not necessary to put a human life in danger of death when humans live way longer and only 26 million animals are used with a 95% being of rodents, fish and birds. There are the good things of animal testing like the cures for things and protection laws for animals. There are bad things as well such as the damage it can cause and that the damage may last forever and/or kill them, there is also that there is new testing so we don’t really need to test on animals but they are treated as humanely as
Many of us are unaware of the sheer number of animals that undergo constant suffering in the name of human vanity. Animal testing was originally introduced in the early 20th century and is still prominent today. It is morally unacceptable to experiment on animals for human purposes. The procedures used in animal testing are cruel and inhumane, nor are they the most reliable source of data; resulting in many mishaps. Moreover, with the perpetual advancements in technology, there are several alternative methods making animal testing unnecessary. If testing cosmetics and drugs on humans is unacceptable, what makes it acceptable to test on animals?
In this project ,my group members focus on the effect and alternatives of animal testing. Animal testing also known as animal experimentation or in-vivo research is the use of non-human animals in experiments, in other words, it is the procedure performed on living animals for purposes of research into basic biology and diseases. For example, test new medical products, to make sure it is safe for human use. There are many different species are used around the world, but the most common include mice, monkey, fish, rats, rabbits, hamsters, birds, cats, dogs. And farm animals,
As the number of animals being used in animal testing goes up, many people pose a concern about the subject. There are around 100 million animals that are killed in the United States each year alone in animal testing (“Experiments”). These animals are tested for medical training, chemical, drug, food, cosmetics, biology lessons, and even curiosity driven experiments Animals including cats, dogs, rats, guinea pigs, monkeys, and many others are used. Alternative testing options are ways that scientists can still study and research different things while also saving the lives of animals that are used in animal testing everyday. Even though many people depend on animal testing to discover different cures
Over 26 million animals are tortured and tested on every year, in the United States alone. Most are used for testing medical treatments, which people for animal testing say has saved countless numbers of lives, but how many has it destroyed in the making? Although testing on animals has lead to major scientific breakthroughs, the way in which they reach them is incredibly inhumane. We having the ability, should try our best to stop this wide spread animal testing because the tests are inhumane, the animals are abused during the tests, and the results can be achieved in other ways.
The development of new treatments including medicines are distinguished for being time consuming, costly and complex. However, this timely manner is beneficial for society as it meant to provide an efficient and safe medication. Concerns regarding when animal studies are necessary compared to clinical trials has been a debatable topic among society. For over a decade, animal research has served as a fundamental component in many medical findings. Mousses are commonly used in laboratories, as we as humans share nearly 95% of our genes, making them a useful and efficient model for the assistance of discovering medications used today (Grant, 2017). Bench studies should continue to be practiced by researchers as
It is beyond my understanding how that cute dog in the window of that store could be one of the 115 million animals that are tested on every year in the U.S. Behind those cute puppy eyes may be a whole world of pain. Animal testing can be using anything on animals from lipstick to medicine to dangerous chemicals. Testing has been going on as early as 1832 (according to this picture on animal-testing.procon.org of a dog geting cut into for research.) and has been continuing for years. Animals are getting tossed into testing, unaware of what is happening to them without choice. Testing may not even be helpful to humans, rendering it useless to hurt animals for. (41 seconds)
Animal testing has long played a part in the science of testing, and it still plays a very important role in the medical world. Testing on animals in order to create a cure for AIDS is one thing, but testing on animals for human vanity is another. Animal testing is used to test the safety of a product. It has kept some very unsafe substances out of the cosmetic world. However, in this day in age, animal testing is not the only way to test the safety of a product. Animal testing in cosmetics has decreased over the years. However, it is still used by many companies in America. Animal testing is not only cruel, but it is also unnecessary in today’s advanced scientific world.
