Beach Bum, Say I Do!
Have you ever dreamed of doing something but never thinking it would happen? Have you ever wanted to do a whole list of things but never had the courage to do it? Have you ever woke up every day feeling like you were living a fantasy? Well I did and here’s my story.
On April 13, 2014, after being in Panama City Beach for five whole days, it was finally coming to an end. I woke up to the sun rays shining on me from the beach front view condo we were staying in and got up to start my day. My best friend’s and I cooked breakfast which consisted of pancakes, eggs with cheese, grits and bacon. After breakfast, we got dressed to go out shopping but deep down inside I wasn’t really feeling like going out at all. My normal self would have loved to get out the house and go shopping, but something deep down was bothering me.

I settled for a simple white sun dress and a tan beach hat to match. Headed to the Panama outlets, we first stopped at our favorite store Forever 21. Forever 21 is literally a girl’s heaven when it comes to clothes. It seriously has everything you can imagine, and accommodates every style and size. Leaving Forever 21, we went out to eat at this restaurant called Dick’s Last Resort. When we walked in, we were getting yelled at and insulted by the staff, but it was in a fun way. Sitting down at the table, there were hats on the table waiting for you to put on. Once you put the hat on your waitress will write something on there to insult you but describe you at the same time, mine said Black Blonde. Very disrespectful. I ate the seafood crab dip and firecracker salmon with French fries. Finally after being in the restaurant for hours, we grabbed dessert from a local Ben and Jerry’s and went back to the
You might not know my name or who I am, but that is not important, my story is important. I had a twin brother named Neels. He died in a car crash along with my mother when I was only five years old. After my brothers and mother 's death, my father thought it would be geniality for us to move to a beach house, to get distances from the memories. I still remember the house like it was just yesterday, baby blue with special memories of my father and I.
It was a nice sunny day on the beach in the Bahamas. There was a nice, calm breeze and there wasn’t a single cloud in the sky. In the distance there were other islands and boats, and a giant building. It looked like a picture out of a magazine.
This photograph was taken on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii in 2015. It was taken during sunset and as the tide had gone out, revealing a wider coastline. The world-famous beach is manmade and since 1951, over 80,000 cubic meters of sand has been imported to replace sand lost through erosion from heavy rainfall, sea swells, wind and tropical storms.
"So there you have it…" Arnold took deep breath as he finally finished his story. He leaned back against his chair and waiting for Gerald reaction.
Why do we search for something greater than our existence itself? What makes us crave the unknown, the unexplored? Since the beginning of time, humanity as a whole has always tried to better itself, to perfect the art of civilization. The Beach is a prime example of human kind's quest for the perfect society, our own Utopia. In our minds, a Utopia is the "perfect" community, where no flaws are established, no problems occur. Yet, human kind typically will always destroy itself, no matter how perfect their community seemingly is. Deterioration of these makeshift communities is inevitable. This is exactly what happened to the community at the Beach. Their discreet society was single handedly destroyed by one man, named Richard.
After manuel asked her to be his they went right to the beach which was located about ½ of a mile away from the restaurant. They rolled down the beach with his fantastic car playing some old school music full blast like if they were the only people on this earth. This was their special day and no one on the earth can ruin this. When they pulled up to the beach emmanuel pulled up to the first parking spot. He got out of the car and went to go open the door for his new wife.they both walked down the beautiful sand where the sand was clear of any sticks and rocks. The night was just right with a beautiful full moon and the sky nice and dark. The walked romantically down the beach line feeling the nice ice cold water with their feet. Maria was walking a little fast because she had wanted to get to the end of the beach where they had sat for about 1 hour. They talked about a lot of their date and how much it meant to
Thank you for your thoughtful invitation to this year summer's Taste of the Beach event. Unfortunately, I have a project going on the same day at “The Zodiac” restaurant that I had agreed to provide a selection of tasty hors d'oeuvres too. We are currently dealing with major and extensive remodeling to our kitchen and facilities which is the reason why we can't make it to your event. I heard that this year at your Taste of the Beach event, you will be proving food, wine, music, and artistic offerings as well as well-known chefs, artists, and music group performances. I've also heard that your event is supporting Big Brothers Big Sister of America group which is an awesome contribution to the youth mentoring organization. Furthermore, I would
In April of 2014 my family and I went on our annual family beach trip to Destin Florida. We usually pick a month during the spring because it is not too blistering nor too icy and the temperature of the water is exactly right. I want to say the climate remained in the low 80’s the entire time we were at the beach. This particular trip is very special to each and every one of my family members especially my dad.
I shook the gift anxiously hoping to figure out what my grandfather sent me in the colorfully wrapped box. Yet after hours and hours of guessing I still couldn't figure it out. My mother strictly forbade me from opening the gift till the next morning, and my curiosity was driving me insane. The box was so light-weighted that it felt empty, and when I shook it simply made a faint sound so I couldn't even make a guess as to what it was.
I walked along the beach. As I was walking I could feel the fresh smell of the beach like it was an air freshener but it also smelled that gave me a tingle in my nose. As I kept walking along the beach I could feel the light breeze coming against me. This fresh air felt warm as I felt like I was sleeping in a comfortable bed. I kept walking in the beach, as I did it felt like an escape to all my problems and also my stress. Beach felt like a solution to all my problems and could be open with anything.
You have been in the car for a very long three days. You have sat in a line of cars 10 miles long. You have endured your annoying siblings, stressed out parents and the cramped space of the car. You have eaten junk food and soda for days. Your legs are screaming to move, you think you will never arrive. You have heard rumors about the beach. Sand so white it sparkles, water crystal clear, ships the size of buildings, and hotel rooms the sizes of houses. You finally start to see the first signs of the ocean first the tall tan coconut trees, then the smell of the salt water, and then the roar of the waves. Then you finally see it the ocean, so big and so blue. Full of life, adventure, and discovery.
It was late March during Spring Break in Fort Lauderdale, our famous tourist season which dubbed my city “Fort Liquor-dale” to the college crowd. The beaches were bustling with cars from out-of-state and lively with snowbirds basking at the ocean's edge with oily, sunburned bodies in colorful bathing suits, and wet, clinging trunks soaking up the last few rays before the sunset.
The place where I feel most comfortable is a place where I am calm. A place that is peaceful in its own ways. It is the place to go to get away from all my troubles. It is the one place where I could sit forever, and never get tired of just staring into the deepest blue I have ever seen. It is the place where I can sit and think the best. A place where nothing matters but what is in that little moment. The one place capable of sending my senses into an overload. This place is the ocean.
It was December 22nd, 2016 in the middle of a cold miserable winter, my extended family and I took a trip that we will remember for a lifetime to Dominican Republic. Dominican Republic is a Caribbean country that is well-know for their beautiful beaches. After our long, stuffy plane ride we landed in the Punta Cana airport, right as we stepped out of the plane we felt the sun dazzling on our pale, white Minnesota skin. Arriving in the country, at first I was overwhelmed with everything. Seeing the crowds of eager people coming and pushing against me to get where they wanted to be was overwhelming. I finally grabbed my heavy luggage and rushed to the exit to get to our taxi. Driving through the city was such an experienced, I observed how much difference it is there then Minnesota . I looked around and noticed little kids walking around with no shoes on or supervision I also saw families riding a tiny motorcycle with no protection and drove unsafely it gave me anxiety watching it. I observed trash everywhere lying on the side of the streets, it was such an eye opener to me to compare where I live to how they live and how thankful I was where I live and how I was raised. After driving through parts all around the city we arrived to our resort that we stayed at which was such a jaw dropping sight. When we got in we met some people that work there. They greeted us and were so
Every year my family goes on vacation. This year we decided to do something new. For the first time in forever, we were going to go to a beach, Myrtle Beach, with a bunch of other families. My brother and I were super excited we could hardly fall asleep. The next morning, we quietly climbed out of out warm, cozy beds and got ready. Soon after that we all piled into the car ready for the long trip that stood ahead of us. It was roughly five thirty in the morning and everything was still pretty dark. None of my neighbors were up except for us. We all got comfortable and started our long twelve hour journey. My brother and I slept for the first five and a half hours while my mom gave my dad the directions. It wasn’t until we woke up that we got bored and irritated. For the rest of the ride, my brother and I slept, looked lit the window until we got bored, and occasionally stopped for a bathroom break or food. It wasn’t until we got there when we were overjoyed. We weren’t just happy to be there, we happy to get out of the car.
