Bethel University students need to set a great example for other MBA candidates, by using proper APA formatting and citing all of their references. It is important that they not only give credit to their sources but that they maintain a high caliber of integrity. Without crediting the informational source, students are essentially stealing from another individual. Resources are written by experts in their field. They have spent their time and money to pursue higher education in order to become resources for students. There are many consequences for plagiarizing in the Bethel program. The worst of which is expulsion from the school. Being expelled from school can carry a huge stigma on a permanent school record. The solution is to cite, cite,
The principal’s final verdict was so crushing that it left a lump in my throat. My childhood years of trouble making never caught up to me; I never thought it would. Every year, I would end up in one incident or another, but the result was simply a slap on the wrist. This time, there was no escaping punishment. I was to have in-school suspension for three days.
The only documentation needed this semester was the APA paper. During the semester, I learned about self plagiarism where an essay may only be submitted to one assignment. With the works cited page, I used a citation machine called easybib that did all of the work for me. All I had to do was double check the citations with the purdue OWL. Due to the APA paper, I learned how to cite APA style and cite peer reviewed journals correctly (8-9).
I have read and understand the APUS plagiarism policy. At all time, every student should be accountable for their own work. The plagiarism policy is there to make sure students are learning rather than copying and using someone else work.

When writing any kind of paper or essay, it is essential that you give Plagiarism is a serious credit to the sources that you use; you do this by appropriately citing these sources in parenthetical citations within your paper and in a academic violation. reference list at the end of the paper. Failing to appropriately cite To avoid plagiarism, sources—either intentionally or unintentionally—is a serious academic violation called plagiarism. When congress passed the gender-equality law known as Title IX (1972) more than 40 years ago, no one expected it to make colleges responsible for handling sexual assault. Title IX was a “stealth law” aimed at helping women get through the doors of higher education and is now being interpreted to require colleges to investigate and resolve students reports of rape, determining whether their classmates are responsible for assault and, if so, what the punishment should be. (Wilson, Paragraph 1-2) The term Sexual Assault was defined by the district as any type of sexual contact or behavior that occurs without the explicit consent of the recipient. With that definition, the term on campus was
My key take away from module 5 is that in today’s technologically advance world there are more ways than ever for a student to slip into the plagiarism trap and honestly not know it. Reading a few other articles on plagiarism such as “The Plague of Plagiarism: Academic Plagiarism Defined” by Irving Hexham, Department of Religious Studies, University of Calgary, I actually see where a student could still be confused as to what to cite or not to cite as there are some scholars who believe that if you can find the same information used in more than three places then you don’t have to cite, and yet there are others who say if more than five places you don’t have to cite. Bottom line here is if a student reads and understands their institutions guidelines on plagiarism and manages their time well, there should never be a reason any student should fall into the plagiarism trap.
Opportunities Being able to go to school is such a great opportunity to have. If someone is willing to work hard enough to graduate high school, they should also have the opportunity to better their education through attending college or an university.
As everybody say: “College are the best four years in your life”. I suppose people say this, for the reason that it’s an opportunity to learn, mature, and socialize. Besides getting good grades, making friends should also be a priority in college. Introducing yourself, slowly bonding with somebody, until that friendship built to great relationship with trust. What if someone makes friends backwards? Skipping the introduction, and scratching out the “Icebreaker”. Will that be considered weird and deviant?
Other than losing credits, Steven could potentially be expelled, not able to graduate, nor to transfer credits to another college. I wouldn’t have copied material, but if I was on Steve’s situation I would assume the responsibility for my actions and told the teacher what I did. I would have explained him the entire situation, and hope for him to just give me a 0 in the assignment as a consequence.
I am petitioning for a retroactive withdrawal from the summer 2016. I had a tough experience during summer 2016 semesters, I struggled to maintain keeping up with class, attending all classes, and for that my grades end up suffering. At the time, I was dealing with relationship issues at home with my mom over my father, and finding out who my father was. I was taking care of my two young cousins which discontinued my ability to show up for class on some days. Alongside with my decision to pursue my career overseas career to play basketball and take care of my baby cousins.
American Psychological Association (APA) writing style exists for a reason and this reason is because writers' must give “credibility where credibility is due”(Walden Writing Center, 2015) . During my BSW program I learned this and also, the importance of integrity in college level writing. In my opinion, two aspects of APA that I think will not challenge me are direct quotations and listing references. I have to admit I prefer to quote intellecutual matter directly rather than, use paraphazing. I believe this is approriate to do if the quote you utilize is short and all of your agrguments regarding, the content of the quote, are your own ideas. Another thing that will come easily to me is listing my references. This comes easily to me because during my undergraduate education, I excelled in this area. The reason for this is because everytime I wrote a reference page I always refered to my courses APA manual.
No matter whether they are in high school, college or university, every single student should be careful of their grade standpoint. A student’s academic performance is reflected on their GPA and failure to upkeep grades and to pass a class is then resulted in an academic probation or suspension. Students will have to face the consequences of being unable to meet the minimum grade requirements of a college as it is necessary for students to be able to continue their major and to graduate. College and university students should all be aware of academic probation as it can be an important concern to those who are beginning to see a deterioration in their GPA average. All students should be well knowledged in the causes and effects of academic probation, as well as what to do if they become affected and the process of being reinstated from academic dismissal.
By a click of a button and wandering eyes, you have stolen someone else’s work and claimed it as your own . Using someone else’s work has been going on for many centuries before us. Stealing work is getting easier with the technology we have today.Plagiarizing and cheating is becoming an epidemic in the college today. Students all over the world have cheated to get the grade. If a student is caught cheating or plagiarizing he or she should be expelled from college because it is morally wrong, many colleges have honor code contract that deals with plagiarizing, and the student is not understanding the value of college.
