Agencies struggle with accessibility to ensure assistance to individual’s in need. Although, often the need doesn’t match the options given. Client’s availability and agencies work hours can conflict making it difficult for those that need assistance or help. In these cases, shouldn’t client still get the help they need? I would propose that the agency offer after hour appointment times for those who have conflicting schedules. Meeting a client or patient where they are and helping them with what they need is the main objective of any help profession.

A social worker can transfer attitudes to a service user, for example, they may be able to hold hope in a seemingly hopeless situation, alternatively they may communicate worthlessness to the service user causing them to capitulate and not expect any progress in their time of need. Therefore, it is important to communicate well and be aware that more than simply the words used communicate held opinions; body language and tone often tell the listener more than words do (Hargie and Dickson, 2004). Furthermore, actions such as keeping appointments and offering a drink in a meeting may also communicate that the service user is valued, this – along with many others – is a reason for me to develop strong organisational skills.

Wahlstrom reports on the contentious discussion and debate about whether or not schools should consider switching to later start times. When classes start before 8:15, students become sleep deprived causing memory deficits, impaired performance and alertness, and being able to stay on task. Even though there are all these negative consequences to early start times why do schools still continue to start before 8:15? Wahlstrom mentioned the possible reasons why more schools have not made the switch. Wahlstrom stated, “As other districts consider the change to a later start for their high schools… an extremely contentious decision because administrators do not want any local advocacy group or start policymaker to interfere in a decision normally

NASCAR at Richmond International Raceway, Short Pump Town Center, the UCI bike race, Richmond International Airport, and Innsbrook Afterhours are all some of Henrico County’s hallmark features and events. It is important to the county that its residents are able to enjoy these facilities safely and easily. The Innsbrook Afterhours summer concert series is a central feature of the county during the warmer months. Its widely varying acts bring in all different types of people, who all should be able to enjoy the weather and the music safely. Leaving from these events, however, puts concert-goers and the general public at a special risk because of the amounts of alcohol commonly consumed at these events. It is necessary for public safety to give citizens options to make right decisions. Henrico County Police has the chance to make more options available, that would make everyone safer.

The feeling of being powerless will make clients to become hopeless as a social worker it is our job to reassure and help the client realize their strengths and power.
