The following is a case study of the Denver’s Sherriff department and the decision by numerous Sherriffs to find another union representative, particular the Teamsters union. Their current union, which has represented the Denver Sherriff department since 1993, is the Financial Order Police, or FOP. According to the case, the Teamsters persuaded over 100 of the Sherriffs to join. However, they would need the vote of over half of the 700 Sherriffs.
