High-5 Conglomerate Berhad has over the years, established itself as one of the dominant bakery and confectionery manufacturers in the country. The founder for this company is Tan Chin Suan. High-5 Conglomerate Berhad is principally engaged in the business of bakery manufacturing, sales and distribution of bakery products such as bread, rolls, buns, cakes and spreads. The company was previously known as Silver Bird Group Bhd of which the Silver Bird Group Berhad are from the activity of a merger and acquisition in 1997.

This company had chosen to operate their production based on product oriented layout. On the other hand, the company is running the same sequential of production process for every product that been produced by the company for example cream roll and loaf buns. As mentioned by the presenter, indirectly, we can see that they are targeting on low volume for each of the products but high variety in all products whereby it is called as the product-focused process.
Based on the layout strategy that has been used, there are certain requirements that have to be met by the High 5 Company. For an example, they are in needed to have a specific amount of production quantities, of which any increasing in demand of a particular product would lead to expanding of layout strategies. The type of products that are commonly produced by High 5 should also be specified whereas they only served several types of loafs and such variety in roll buns.

Production Orientation- The focus of the business is not to satisfy the needs of its customers, but rather on the strength of the business to mass produce in order to maximise their profits as well as reduce their costs.
