Emely Rodriguez ENG.1301.S62 Ms. Gonzales 08.DEC.2017 Devices before Paper When many hear about the use of cellphones and /or electronic devices being used in the classroom, they are quick to abject to how an awful idea it would be. But stop for a second and think about how different schools would be if they allowed the privelege of cellphone and/or other electronic device use. Schools should allow the use of a cellphone and/or electronic device in the classroom for educational purposes rather than sticking to the traditional paper and pencil because, the enviroment will benefit from the reduced number of paper we would use, the technology is always advancing and so should we, and we have all the resources that we could possibly need to learn in our hands. Paper seems to be an essential need in our daily lives, so much so that everywhere we look we see paper, especially in our classrooms. The use of our cellphones as well as other electronic devices in a classroom setting can help lower the amount of paper being used. It’s an important resource that will later lead to having a positive effect on our enviorment. As we all know paper comes from trees, but that is just one product that comes from cutting down trees. Other products include things such as the inside souls of our shoes, electrical plugs, home insallation, card board packaging, amongsts other things. At, “35 percent of the total trees cut down around the world are used in paper industries on every
What? Cell phones in a class room. Kinds using cell phones is class is a bad idea. They could be on inappropriate websites such as negative videos and games. These are some reasons why students should not be able to use their cell phones during class. Teachers and staffs just want children to do work on their cell phones without any problems out of them. Mean while some students may go tell the teacher if your on the wrong thing other than what your supposed to be on. If I was a parent I would not let my child bring him/her phone to school doing to bullying, teachers taking their phones and do to someone trying to take him/her phone. Schools will clearly promote their students' academic success and safety by limiting the use of student phones during school hours. Presently, most schools leave it to teachers to manage phone distractions in their own classrooms. But this piecemeal approach has left teachers with inadequate support to confront the difficult and potentially unsafe task of limiting disruptive phone use by defiant students. I would like to use cell phones in class but I cant because children do not know how to act their age. Children under the age of 14 should not have a phone. Students need to worry about their education instead of gossip and drama.
Why our school should have the right to ban cell phone use during the school day? Because it will good for our child study. Some people will think that it is unreasonable to prohibit students from using the phone on campus. Because Parents cannot quickly reach their children in an emergency, unable to exercise their autonomy, and reduce the way students gain more knowledge. As we know, the electronic products are becoming more and more developed for our lives have a huge impact in today. In today's fast-paced times, mobile phones are a handy tool to get this information. When your phone has downloaded some news app, these applications will continue to push the new news, some self-control students in the classroom will not be able to live to see the phone which led to the progress of learning. I will go through three different part to talking about the school should to ban the cell phone. Improve students' learning efficiency, effectively prevent students from relying on mobile phones, contribute to the physical and mental development of students. At the same time, I will agree with the views of the other side, and why do they think in the campus to prohibit the phone is reasonable.
Imagine a school in which cell phones were not allowed on campus. How would the children contact their parents in the case of an emergency? Perhaps more importantly, how would this affect a child's ability to learn, and their access to knowledge? In an ever changing world most schools have adapted to use technology to their advantage. Whether this be strict times when cell phones are allowed, or more generalized rules, the schools today are able to shape these new devices in their favor. This movement, however, is looked at by some to be a terrible decision, and a hazard to children's growth in the school environment. This essay will go over the three main reasons why cell phones should be allowed and encouraged inside of the school building. The first reason why schools should allow cell phones is because parents need easy contact with their children in all situations. The second reason to allow cell phones is because they improve the learning environment and provide a digital knowledge database. The final reason to allow phones in a school setting is because they can give schools financial and educational freedom opportunities that were never possible before. Cell phones are amazing tools, and schools have all the power in the world to utilize them to their full potential.
Phones shouldn’t be used in the classroom. They are bad because they are a distraction to the students. They are a distraction because the kids won't pay attention . The kids won't pay listen because they are too busy on their phone. This means teachers have to try way too hard to get their
Hmm, phones in the classroom! What do you think? That is a debate between billions of people in the world today. Children all over the world have phones, but they can not have them out during school hours. Cell phones are important to so many kids and adults. These devices have been around for so long, and many people can not live without them. All around the school campus, students are miserable without their phones. In the world today, about three-fourths of the U.S. population have phones. A cell phone is an important thing to some people. Without cell phones, kids wouldn't have access to their social media accounts like Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and more. So take this into consideration, even if it is in one class, students should be allowed to get on their cell phones during school hours.
Have you ever heard of the gruesome Columbine High School massacre? This incident occurred on April 20th 1999 and involved two students embarking on a shooting rampage, killing twelve students, a teacher and wounding twenty three others. Unfortunately during this incident, the school 's most easily accessible phone was on the complete other side of the school in the library. Perhaps some of these lives could have been saved if the students in this class had cell phones that they could 've used to contact the authorities more quickly. The issue we are addressing today is the usage of cellular devices in educational facilities. Both Cameron and myself believe that cell phone usage is of extreme convenience, and has academically beneficial
The school should allow the use of cell phones. The use of cell phones can help the student with their assignments and research. When students are allowed to use their phones they will have better grades. Allowing the use of cell phones to help the students’ with their work and assignments.
Today, we would like to discuss why cell phone use should be allowed while in school and how allowing cell phones during school hours can
Should cellphones be allowed in school? Well, this is a controversial topic. There's two sides to this argument and many parents and teachers demonize cell phone usage in school, parents complaint to teachers to ban cellphones, that their kid is using his phone too much and the teachers blindly follow suit. Without even looking at the advantages of having cellphones, for the sake of their jobs they just put the ban. This punishment hurts even those who can use their phones responsibly. Why should the people who can control themselves have to be punished because their are people who can't. After doing my research I’ve come up with 3 strong reasons as to why phones should be allowed in school. Now, I already know me ranting about cell phones won't have any influence over this decision of the district, the message will just fall into deaf ears. Here we go anyway, the first reason as to why phones should be allowed is that they prepare students for a real world job. I personally think cell phones help than hinder learning, and I hope you do too, but if you don't. Hopefully this essay can change your viewpoint on this age old debate.
Although schools want to extinct cell phones from schools research proves that cell phones make learning a better environment.
Imagine you walk by a classroom and you see all the students learning productively using cell phones. It’s not surprising many people think cell phones should be banned in school. Kids could use it to cheat on tests, email their friends, play games or watch videos in the middle of a lesson! Many researchers see cell phones as a teaching tool for students. If students can learn how to use cell phones and how they work, then they can reveal the intended use of cell phones. I think cell phones should be allowed in school because kids will become familiar with technology. It's easier to work on long term projects. It's also a valuable teaching and learning tool.
Many teachers and adults don’t think cellphones should not be allowed in school because of the distraction they cause. Although people believe students shouldn’t be able to use their phones in classrooms, cell phones should be allowed because music helps students concentrate when working, also they could be used for research purposes, and lastly students could use their phones to communicate with parents, and others.
Many teachers believe that cell phones don’t belong in a classroom because there are several disadvantages. An example maybe a student who uses a cell phone in class has no intension in listening or paying attention to the teacher. This student has a short attention span who cares about socializing more than his/her education. Cell phones can be very disruptive; they can invade people’s privacy and can also be used as harassment or bullying. The usage of cell phones is creating a huge problem particularly when they are used in school.
The next topic of discussion is cell phones in classrooms. The article being summarized is entitled The Only Thing We Have to Fear is…120 Characters. In this article, Kevin Thomas and Christy McGee (2012) make arguments for the use of cellphones in classrooms in spite of the fact that 69% have banned them. This paper responds to the many reasons for disallowing their use, and then it goes on to highlight some ideas about why cell phones should be used as educational tools. Both sides of the discussion certainly make valid points.
There are countless other reasons for the proposal to be implemented. For instance, a revised curriculum in schools could positively impact the students of these schools. It’s vital that schools that allow students to use their cell phones in class immediately put a stop to this practice. However some people such as, Lisa Nielson would argue with this. She believes that cell phones are the way of the future and need to be embraced (Nielson, 2008, p.5.). However this needs to be the first step because cell phones become a distraction in the classroom. Luckily, Jack Tessier reports that many schools have already taken preventative measures, “many schools have implemented policies to restrict cell phone use by students and teachers” (Tessier, 2013). These policies are important to implement because if students are using their cell phones it follows that they are not listening to the teachers. Furthermore, schools need to cease their dependence on technology outside of the classroom. Cell phones slow students down and prevent them from efficiently completing their work. “ Using your cell phone while completing a task takes 50 percent longer and you make up to 50 percent more errors.” (Kaminski 2015, p.2). Classroom activity for the most part should be limited to lectures and homework based on what was learned in class. This is necessary because students already know how to use technology, it’s important for them to learn to use their resources to complete assignments. They need
