The idea behind my purpose of my study is to have a better classroom environment for both me and my co-teacher and the student in are prek classroom. Currently classroom management is not going well,as the preprofessional in the classroom I am having a hard time getting the classroom in control alone with my lead teacher in the classroom. In such we spend most of the day taking care of behavior issue in contrast less time having the children learn. Without having a good class management plan and the skill to use it the classroom become a chaotic environment not well suited for the student to be able to learn. In a chaotic classroom student will not be able to learn nor will they feel safe in such an environment. If a student does not feel safe in the classroom they will not be able to learn. In such with this Action research study I would like to discovery methods that can help me and other teacher improve are classroom management skills.
I am currently working in a prek classroom. The current teacher is brand new to teaching and working with such a young group of children. In such the classroom environment in a bit chorictc because of poor management skill of the teacher and co-teacher making the school day a very stressful experience for both the teacher and students. With this research I would be looking to see what as teacher we can learn and do to better improve the classroom environment through class room management skills. In such that the environment will be a
The teaching environment and how a classroom is set out can have an effect on the children; have a well organised classroom with clear instructions of how to use materials and equipment as this can help them have the confidence to try things for themselves.
Good classroom and behaviour management is essential for a lesson to run smoothly. Knowing how to anticipate and manage problems will ensure that students spend maximum time on task, and those students who are eager to learn are
The use of the 10 micro-skills for classroom management “reduced the serious disruptive behaviour from occurring” (Goldman, 2003). The minimisation of misbehaviour increased student participation (standards 4.1 and 4.3). Having an awareness of the students’ zone of proximal development assisted in organising classroom activities specific to the needs of the learners. This supported inclusive student participation and engagement in classroom activities (standard 4.1). The use of a PowerPoint presentation resulted in effective organisation of classroom activities and providing clear directions (standard 4.2). This positive affected the success of classroom activities. According to Rosenshine (1983), the success of any activity is all in the instructions.
I have heard that for many beginning teachers, classroom management can be one of the most challenging aspects of their new career. Knowing this, I decided to experiment with many classroom management approaches during my student teaching to find one that fit both my students and myself. Based on these experiences, I designed a classroom management plan that I will implement in my classroom as a beginning teacher. It is important to note, however, that my classroom management philosophy will be evolving as necessary as I gain more experience and insight into the field of teaching. Also, my classroom management plan may need to be altered to fit my specific group of students.
Classroom management is the process by which teachers and schools create and maintain appropriate behavior of students in classroom settings. When classroom-management strategies are executed effectively, teachers minimize the behaviors that impede learning for both individual students and groups of students, while maximizing the behaviors that facilitate or enhance learning. Classroom management is really hard and there are many theorists that talk about it and each is different from the other where each theorist has his/her own ideas and thoughts. Some of them are mentioned below.
My philosophy of classroom management is that the management of elementary classrooms require several things. Among patience, determination and motivation are: flexibility, careful planning and consistency. A well-managed classroom did not get well-managed without a teacher who planned, had a flexible vision and was determined. Any new teacher, who is asked, will say they want a classroom with as few behavioral problems as possible as well as one that is easily manageable. But any experienced teacher, who is asked, will tell those new teachers that classrooms do not come "well managed". They have to be made into well-managed classrooms. These experienced teachers would also encourage by saying
Managing your classroom determines how effective you are as a teacher. In this training, it talks about many different ways you can create structure in the classroom. One of the ways was setting rules. Another was to set individual and whole group goals in classroom and commit to completing each goal. It is very important to have complete control over your classroom it promotes maturity, safety, trust and easy flow.
The topic explored by this study is classroom management for early childhood education. In general, the literature seems to indicate that effectiveness of classroom management. The information presents skills necessary for teachers to use to become successful in the classroom. Some research calls for a series of steps for one to take teachers to become successful in the classroom. Each task varies from teacher to teacher, but overall to have complete success with classroom management one must practice, practice, and practice to become consistent with the skills and to prepare to be successful. The existing literature shows that classroom management is a complicated concept that has transformed over time. Various factors must be controlled to enhance the effectiveness of classroom management. The role of classroom management should never be underestimated as it determines the nature of citizenry a country anticipates to have. Apart from examining the models for classroom management, the article explores factors affecting classroom management and proposes some reliable classroom management strategies in early childhood education.
In a diverse classroom each student will be attended based on their individual need and teachers will meet each child at their level. Student will be treated equally regardless of their cultural background or socioeconomic status. By providing a good classroom management system, we will have a respectful and inclusive class culture. Establishing good classroom routines is essential to creating a positive environment for students to focus on learning. The follow sections cover those routine in our class
A classroom is a very dynamic and spontaneous place. Every classroom is comprised of a diverse combination of individuals who all contribute to the unpredictable nature and uniqueness of the class. The reality that no two students are alike and no two classes are ever alike, contributes greatly to the difficulty of establishing a realistic and effective classroom management plan. It is important that teachers realize that a classroom is an unpredictable place and that it is much more reasonable to strive to manage their classroom as opposed to trying to control it. I see my role as a managing teacher as
Teachers are not only expected to teach their students, but also provide an environment where everyone feels safe and can learn. Classroom management is a very important part of teaching. Students cannot learn in an unsafe, disruptive environment. This paper will discuss the strategy of SHAPING, how it is used to modify a student’s behavior, and give an example of how to modify a student’s behavior. This paper will also discuss my personal beliefs about classroom management, share rules and expectations for the classroom, rewards for individuals and the class, designing the classroom where the teacher is visible and there are no distractions, and discuss some classroom procedures and how they contribute to classroom management
Classroom management is a key element to establish a successful learning environment in any classroom. An effective classroom management plan creates a positive learning environment. Classroom management is affected by the characteristics of the students and their behavior. Students’ behavior is influenced by their age, academic abilities, goals, interests, and home backgrounds (Evertson, Emmer, and Worsham, 2006). Teachers need a diverse array of classroom management skills to facilitate learning. A classroom with a proper management plan will spend less time in disciplining and more time in learning. Students in effectively managed classrooms know and follow clearly defined rules and routines. A classroom management plan should provide
teachers; yet I feel prepared and excited to embark on this journey and test my theories in
In life there are always positive and negative things in life, there are always two sides to look at. In this case I'm talking about whether I think that traditional classroom setting is better for the students or if online is better. I know I'm about to contradict myself but honestly there is no right or wrong way with going with the classroom setting. I say that because some kids learn faster or are more educated in some things which is completely normal, no one is the same. Some kid’s need that more personal or one on one learning because there are some kids that need. Sometimes it just works out for the family best, for example my parents travel a lot and for me to go to a traditional classroom I depended on my parents to drive me to school every day because I don't live close for the bus to pick me up and take me to school. There were many other reasons like the people I associated myself with because they were the people I met my freshman year. I realized that the people I was hanging out with were not people that I had things in common with. My freshman year I was as my 7th grade teacher said "I was a follower not a leader". Which is crazy to think because if anyone personally knows me they know I do not like when people boss me around, if I were to work I would rather be the boss and not the employee. People think a lot of bad things about me because my dad is a business owner and that is all I've ever seen him do. Which has create this monster inside of me that
There are several types of strategies that need to take place in the classroom setting. For one, the teachers need preventative, supportive and corrective strategies to implement classroom management. These are all ways to help the classroom run smoothly, and ensure that the teacher is implementing classroom
