Introduction Coca-cola is the world’s biggest beverage company that manufacturers, retails, and markets nonalcoholic beverages. The company is headquartered at Atlanta, Georgia. The company was famed for its beverage Coca-cola which was invented in 1986. Coca-cola Company operates a franchise that distributes its products throughout the world. Its distribution chains and established territories have seen the company remain the most competitive beverage company in the world. At one point, Coca-cola was a monopoly in the world beverage market. However, there are various challenges that the company faces as it strives to maintain its exploits in the beverage industry. Violation of workers’ rights is an issue that Coca-cola has had to come out and deny, but it is blatant from the strikes in South Africa and other countries that there is a feel of dissatisfaction amongst their workers on their rights being preserved. The company has very harsh labor conditions for its workers who have to work long hours daily, but end up receiving minimal pay. This issue of worker’s rights being ignored is one that has an adverse impact on the Organization Development of the company. OD Solution recommended and discussion using relevant literature As earlier mentioned, OD is a planned effort to increase an organization’s effectiveness and efficiency to enable the organization to achieve its strategic goals. Organizational development is a systematic learning and development strategy intended to change the fundamentals of views, approaches and application of morals and configuration the current organization to better absorb disruptive technologies, shrinking or exploding marketing opportunities and ensuing challenges. With workers’ related problems; the structure, processes, strategies, and culture of the organization will not work in complimentary efforts to achieve the OD goals. There is a need to evaluate all the possibilities so that these issues are addressed, and the OD process is not hindered.
