Furthermore, the ways in which the learning goal supports the commitment to continuing competency is by enhancing knowledge regarding specialized body of knowledge as it looks at the various ways of knowing. Also, develops knowledge-based practice as the strategies use evidence to guide practice, and competent application of knowledge as it aids in the nursing process of care (CNO, 2014, p. 5-7). Ensuring the safety and quality of care of patients would be an evaluation measure to assess the quality and effectiveness of the learning plan. Therefore, evaluation would include being able to recognize and treat episodes of abnormal glucose levels and care for diabetic patients within the scope of an RN by integrating personal and aesthetic way
As people’s life expectancy increases, the nursing field needs to keep pace with the rapid changes. There’s increased needs for nurses in many different field as well such as nursing home, hospitals, ambulatory cares, palliative care, and hospices. Therefore, an expectation of a role as a nurse has been rise. Nursing skills and knowledge cannot remain limited, but need to utilize in more various setting. In order to provide better care in various nursing field, continuing education is essential. For example, as population and their lifespan increases there’s also new diseases and new treatment has been developed. A competence nurse must embrace old and new skills and thorough knowledge to achieve best quality of care and optimum patient’s overall outcome. The quality of patient care heavily depends on nurses’ level of education. One research proves that nurses who received higher level of education showed lower mortality rate, less medical errors, and higher patient satisfaction. This outcome is related to higher education which prepared nurses to handle various circumstances with appropriate answers. Nurses are people who spend most of time with ill individuals at the bed side. Nursing education will provide new demanding roles of nurses’ requirement such as seeing the patient as a whole, providing appropriate response to patient’s condition, and integrating knowledge and skills accordingly.
In the article “What Do Nurses Really Do?”, Suzanne Gordon explores what nurses truly do. She concludes that nurses “save lives, prevent complications, prevent suffering, and save money” (Gordon 2006). Nurses provide care for their patients in the physical and emotional sense. Emotionally caring for a patient and being sensitive to his or her needs result from interacting with patients while performing the skills and using the knowledge that nurses learned in school. Nurses grow in their skills, knowledge, and attitudes through practice. Quality and safety education for nursing incorporates competencies that all nurses must use in their practice. These nursing competencies include evidence-based nursing practice, quality improvement, safety, teamwork and collaboration, patient-centered care, and informatics.
Many assessment tools and interviewing skills are available to the clinical social worker within a mental health setting. This paper will examine one such assessment tool, the competency based assessment, and its applicability in a mental health setting. A comparison will be made between this advanced assessment method and a generalist social work assessment. Interviewing people who have mental health concerns can offer challenges for clinical social workers. Several interviewing techniques that can help with some of these challenges will be outlined.
In any job that you have you have to maintain professionalism in the workplace. You especially need to maintain that professionalism when your work with children. It is very important to do this because it reflects on yourself and your employer. If you work in a childcare facility and wear very inappropriate clothing then chances are you will not be working there long. Professionalism is very important when you work with children.

I follow local, state, and federally mandated policies and procedures in order to ensure a well-run program. Daily I perform health and wellness checks when the students arrive and I remain apprised of who is allowed to pick the child up. I am attentive to possible signs of neglect and physical or sexual abuse. If necessary I will provide support and resources such as 211 First Call for Help or Beechbrook counseling to comply with the family’s needs. Ensuring appropriate adult-child ratio, current student records and maintaining open communication with parents is another way the program is purposeful. I identify the child’s progress
Nursing care is focused on the assessment, nursing diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patients. This nursing process can also be implemented in aspects outside of nursing and on the nursing field as a collective group. The nursing role is evolving, following the process the outcomes have to be evaluated and put into perspective. Research is being completed the conclusions are all the same, the higher education of nursing care the better the patient outcomes.
By consistently reviewing the ODE (Ohio Department of Education) preschool program licensing rules I maintain a safe environment for my students. I make sure all exits are marked and unobstructed with properly working doors and locks. Safety and evacuation plans consisting of emergency contact numbers, emergency drill information and diagrams are posted. A communicable diseases chart is posted and a first aid kit is available yet out of the children's reach. My personal items along with cleaning supplies are locked in a cabinet. Children are never left unattended. I model safe practices in the classroom, on the playground and on the bus.
The conceptual definition presents that the core values of nursing discipline is the foundation of the advanced practice of nursing. Advocating for patients, respecting patient and family values and informed alternatives, viewing people holistically of their surroundings, communities, and social traditions, and keeping a focus on illness avoidance, wellness renovation, and wellness promotion are value components of ANP. Yet again, the aim is to ensure the best direct care, improving patient's outcome and quality lifestyle regardless of particular part for the CNS, NP, CRNA, or CNM is the key competency of ANP presented in three definitions and I also believe this is the most important factors in textbook's definition of advanced practice
These are the skills and competencies I have learned through my studies at Walden University. Kaslow, Grus, Campbell, & Fouad, et al. (2009) stated professionalism comes from my respect for those who need help. Integrity can be built with confidence in the therapist. Attitudes are charitable, polite, caring emotions toward others that fuel my motivation toward helping. This concern welfare of others comes from my religious and personal experiences as a child and young adult.
To maintain accreditations and licensing, hospital staff are required to complete trainings throughout the year. All hospital employees are required to complete annual competency training consists of multi-module learning. These learning modules required at least 5 hours of training annually. In addition, health providers are required an additional 10 continue education (CE) hours annually to maintain their license to practice. They are also required to complete to complete a 4-hour basic life support (CPR) training and an 8-hour advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) annually. In service and pharmacy and therapeutics (P&T) meetings are provided to hospital staff at least once a month to present new findings, techniques, and guidelines.
When involving the patient and family in these steps, education care plans are more likely to be effective, and the patient is more likely to reach their health potential. Some of the benefits of effective teaching include increased patient satisfaction, improved quality of life, increased continuity of care, less patient anxiety, increased adherence to interventions, and optimizing independence after discharge. Patients who are better informed find new ways to cope with the stress of illness and are more satisfied with their care. To engage patients in their treatment plan, they must have a dynamic relationship with the provider based on respect. They should also take part in decision-making, accept their responsibilities, care for themselves to the extent that they can, accept support when needed, and feel respected by the health care team. Nurses must commit to providing patient-centered care, collaborating with other team members, using evidence-based practice, measuring patient outcomes, ensuring patient safety, and using informatics to develop care.

Competency is a term used to describe the knowledge required by people as well as associated behaviour needed to provide effective performance, deliver the business and learning goals of the College and be competent in various individual as well as team roles. Competences are strongly linked to the overall vision, mission, objectives and values of the College.
CE.2.2.2. In a developing country such as Indonesia, power stations play an important role in the economy especially for specific and crucial industries in each island and city. The power station needs to be maintained to be as efficient as possible so the electricity can be distributed equally to each island and city. Besides equal distribution, it also needs to reduce power supply interruption and to minimize power loss to each location in specific time frames. The lecturer advised us to create an automated electrical unit system to cascade with the power grid to automatically distribute in each location or crucial area/industry. This problem had interested me and my team and we started to discuss each possibility to resolve the problem and what kind of suitable system would work. I investigated these tasks and problem through reading some journals and books to gain additional knowledge to resolve the problem After having some reading and discussion, I lead and gathered my team to discuss the option for the suitable system including the requirement needed for each options suggested by each person in the team.
