“See you later Mom, love you Dad.” As I start up the engine of my small plane that I had bought after getting my license I started my 2,000 mile journey across the Atlantic ocean. I take off from Jackson Mississippi airport and in an instant in 10,000 feet above sea level. I turn on auto pilot and take a nap.
I jolt up to a loud siren and a red flashing red light. The aircraft that I was in is heading for an island that was not marked on my radar. The smoke from the engine is puffed up in my face and my wing is on fire, how this happened, I don’t know. There was never a sign of the engine overheating and not a single bird in the air. As I was free falling in my plane I had to think fast, so I jumped out of the plane and parachuted on to the beach. My broken down plane flew over my head with a tale of smoke and barrel rolled into the dark forest of this new founded island. I start a journey to the crash site to try to recover as much as I could. That was when I saw him, the Gragle. The Gragle was said to be an alien that had come from another galaxy far far away. He has enormous hands that are none like a human's and a stench that could be smelt from a mile away. He had eight deep purple eyes that stared into your soul and legend was told that he has taken lives of many, but none have reported a sighting of him. I never believed in him, but many others did. And now that he's standing right here in front of me, I could only stand in fear.(13)

The plane took off and were in the air leaving the place I had only ever known. I remember when my parents told me and my two brothers that we would be moving to the United states. At the time I didn’t know where we would end up or how we were even getting there. All I knew was I would be in a totally different landscape with a lot of ethnically different people whom I have never met or seen before.
Getting on our plane was probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to, especially since my dad couldn’t come with us that day. December 8, 2010 was the day my family decided that moving to America would give me and my brother many more opportunities, keep in mind my parents hadn’t told us that we were moving to the US. I remember I had been hugging my dad saying goodbye to him and my mom had to come and grab me away from him. His face was through the window was the last thing I remember seeing before buckling my seat belt and laying down on my mother’s shoulder. Once we had landed my mother woke me up and said to me that I should help out with the luggage and the other belongings we had to take. The night went by probably faster than
After all of that we we’re getting on the plane. We found our sets and sat in them and buckled up we were ready for our flight. Were on a plane I was really excited about the trip, when we took off it was going down the runway faster and faster then all of a the sudden the plane was going up off the ground then we were in the sky floating forward. Then the plane was going fast whenever I looked out the window everything on land and not in the air looked tiny it was an amazing site from up above. It felt like we were flying with the birds.
What do you get when you mix drugs, a man named Fuckhead, and drama? A Denis Johnson story. Drama is a prominent and key aspect that appears in all of Johnson’s work. Since the beginning of time, the world has been intolerant of people that are different or stand out. People have an issue accepting others that have contrasting views, values, opinions, beliefs, and even appearances. “Were that the cars that rushed into the smoke? Did they got lost while driving? How they caught fire so fast? Did everyone survive?” I thought at that moment. Tried to find the answer but too afraid to ask them.
It was an early morning in antioch california where I was vast asleep at my grandma’s house. Until my father suddenly woke me up and said “we have to go” and that's how it all started. So I got up and got dressed, ate little bit of cereal and hopped outside with my bags. “Oh my god” I said as loud as I could without waking anyone up around us. There it was A LIMO FOR ME I almost fainted until grandma said “this is just the beginning. We got in the limo and started our adventure. About a 2 hour nap later we arrived at the SFO airport around 8am. I got my bags and said goodbye to our amazing driver, then walked right through those electric airport doors with the biggest smile ever.
“We have to get them out of there!” I heard voices yelling out in the distance, but was to lightheaded to know where they were coming from.
When I stepped into the large neatly organized white polished plane, I never though something would go wrong. I woke up and found myself on an extremely hot bright sunny desert island filled with shiny soft bright green palm trees containing rough bright yellow hard felt juicy apples. The simple strong plane I was in earlier shattered into little pieces of broken glass and metal when crashing onto the wet slimy coffee colored sand and burning with red orange colored flames. After my realization to this heart throbbing incident I began to run pressing my eight inch footsteps into the wet squishy slimy light brown sand looking in every direction with my wide open eyes filled with confusion in search of other survivors. After finding four
