Discuss The Importance Of Management Theories

I will be clarifying how reading "Theory X, Y, Z" and watched the media piece, "Theory," affected my definition of theory. I will be explaining the reasons why it might be useful to make a connection between actual management situations and theory. I will also explain how theory can inform the actual practice of management. I will provide an example of my own supported observation to maintain my statements. In Conclusion, I will explain which of management theories presented in Day 4 Readings seem to be the most useful and why (Walden, 2014).

Management theories are the ideas and notions about the rules on managing the business or an organization. One of the theories is that treating the employees as an important assets of the company. Team performance management deals with direction of a team work group in order to increase the effectiveness of the group. Individual effectiveness is equally important at the office. A perspective of individual effectiveness included strong communication skills, self-confidence, being capable of handling managerial stress, and work talents. All these fundaments should be followed through Christian worldview.

Theoretical frameworks are often used in research to form a background upon which the research is conducted (Cane et al 2012).Theories are created in order to guide the actual research. Therefore, theoretical frameworks are made at the beginning of a research activity. Some of the theories that would be used in the research include the behavioral management theory, leadership theory and change management theory. The behavioral management theory suggests that managers normally consider that their workers are human beings and they use them to achieve their organizational goals. Effective management of the employees makes them feel that they belong to that institution and thus will work hard as well to accomplish the goals of the organization.

The twentieth century has brought in a number of management theories which have helped shaped our view of management in the present business environment. These emerging theories have enabled managers to appreciate new patterns of thinking, new ways of organising and new ways of managing organisations and people. Management theories are utilized in various organizations in an effort to increase organizational effectiveness and service delivery. The management theory that an organization decides to adhere to will vary based on the type of organization, as well as, the services and/or products that it offers. Therefore, it is not uncommon for an organization to use multiple theories when implementing strategies in the workplace.

Management theory has been a topical issue in several organizational fields for centuries. Both classic and modern styles organizations have reinforced management principles to fulfil goals efficiently and effectively. Theory of management is a list of ideas and goals set into place by owners or organizations which set forth rules and guidelines on how to manage a business. Management theory gives insight to managers and supervisors, pretty much upper level management a vision on how to achieve company goals. Management needs guidance on how to motivate upper level management as well

In order to get things done in an organization, management has the authority to give orders to the employees. Of course with this authority comes responsibility.

Research has shown that there have been several management and organization theories that have been tested through the years and a lot of those were introduced as very sound and logical prior to testing and were accepted by the majority of theorist. The finding of these theories and models simply do not mean that there is a necessity in depth testing and validation for them to be measured justifiable theories. There are theorists that have said that the incorporation of this theory creation and testing is vital. With that said, all of the building and formation of new theories needs to be evaluated so that an evaluation is feasible through sound and dependable testing. But with all of this testing, several problems have emerged as theorist and researchers

Management is the organization and coordination of the activities of a business in order to achieve definite objectives.

Nowadays we have new implementing plans for management. The different theories of management are: classical, behavioral, quantitative and quality management theory, systematic and contingency management theory.

The classical management has two basic drives namely scientific and general administrative management. Scientific management focuses on how to increase productivity whiles the administrative management theory looks at organizations in general and concentrate on how to make them effective and efficient.

Management is a combination of ideas which puts forward certain values on a way to manage a business or organization. The theory of management seeks how managers and supervisors handle their organizations keeping in mind their goals, implementation of important means to get their goals completed and the way to encourage employees to perform their best. The main focus behind the development of management theory is the quest for good ways to make use of managerial means. Management theory evolves constantly with the continuous stream of new ideas that come from the attempts to transform theory into practice, and vice versa (Aguinaldo & Powell, 2002). Progression in management theory normal happen as key personnel discover great methods to accomplish the most important management responsibilities: planning, organiz-ing, leading, and controlling human and other managerial means.
