We can define the management theories as a group of policies, ideas, and procedures that help the management to manage the business. Also, management theories help the managers to know and clearly stating the overall organization’s goals and targets and define the ways to how to achieve these goals in the effective and professional way. Management theories help the managers to know to motive the staff to lead them to achieve the assigned goal.
Importance of Management Theories in the Business and management
Management theories are essential to any business or organization as they assist the top management to know more and understand more their staff and also learn the management the ways to how to motive their staff to achieve the assigned target. Management theories assist the top managements to set motivation plans to increase the staff productivity which will lead to enhancing the overall performance. I will be clarifying how reading "Theory X, Y, Z" and watched the media piece, "Theory," affected my definition of theory. I will be explaining the reasons why it might be useful to make a connection between actual management situations and theory. I will also explain how theory can inform the actual practice of management. I will provide an example of my own supported observation to maintain my statements. In Conclusion, I will explain which of management theories presented in Day 4 Readings seem to be the most useful and why (Walden, 2014).
Management theories are the ideas and notions about the rules on managing the business or an organization. One of the theories is that treating the employees as an important assets of the company. Team performance management deals with direction of a team work group in order to increase the effectiveness of the group. Individual effectiveness is equally important at the office. A perspective of individual effectiveness included strong communication skills, self-confidence, being capable of handling managerial stress, and work talents. All these fundaments should be followed through Christian worldview.
Theoretical frameworks are often used in research to form a background upon which the research is conducted (Cane et al 2012).Theories are created in order to guide the actual research. Therefore, theoretical frameworks are made at the beginning of a research activity. Some of the theories that would be used in the research include the behavioral management theory, leadership theory and change management theory. The behavioral management theory suggests that managers normally consider that their workers are human beings and they use them to achieve their organizational goals. Research has shown that there have been several management and organization theories that have been tested through the years and a lot of those were introduced as very sound and logical prior to testing and were accepted by the majority of theorist. The finding of these theories and models simply do not mean that there is a necessity in depth testing and validation for them to be measured justifiable theories. There are theorists that have said that the incorporation of this theory creation and testing is vital. With that said, all of the building and formation of new theories needs to be evaluated so that an evaluation is feasible through sound and dependable testing. Management is the organization and coordination of the activities of a business in order to achieve definite objectives.
Nowadays we have new implementing plans for management. The different theories of management are: classical, behavioral, quantitative and quality management theory, systematic and contingency management theory.
The classical management has two basic drives namely scientific and general administrative management. Scientific management focuses on how to increase productivity whiles the administrative management theory looks at organizations in general and concentrate on how to make them effective and efficient.
