Stuntman Erik Schultz has only been in the game for a few years, but has racked up quite a resume in that short time. Some of his credits include Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (utility stunts/double for Enrique Murciano) and Django Unchained (stunt performer). He is also frequently doubles for actor Liam Hemsworth and worked on the last three Hunger Games films among other Hemsworth projects. Recently he did the stunts for Victor von Doom aka Doctor Doom in the latest Fantastic Four. We had a chance to ask Erik some questions about working on Fantastic Four as well as his experience so far in the stunt industry.
When did you decide to become a stuntman? Why?
It was about 6 years ago I officially began working as a stunt performer, but I was certainly trying a lot earlier than that, haha. However, only in the last 2-3 years have I started

Being so busy I think I experienced a little burnout and wasn’t being as active as I had always been. I’ve been an athlete my entire life and I think I was missing that part of my identity. That in conjunction with the lack of creativity in my work really started to affect me emotionally and I became open to the idea of doing something more active and creative. Being a stunt performer gives me that; it allows me to be extremely active physically, to travel, and to see myself in my work, I love it!
What is your favorite action film growing up?
I didn’t grow up watching a lot of movies; I was more of a bookworm when I was younger. Sports and martial arts also kept me pretty busy. But I suppose when I did watch action movies I enjoyed westerns, the Rocky and Indiana Jones films as well as anything with Jackie Chan in it, but no favorite.
Do you have any action icons (actors or other members of the industry?) If so who are
The second movie I selected was “The Last Samurai”. This movie is about a man named Nathan Algren. He was first American military officer, then worked for Japan to train the new army. In battle against the rebels, he gets captured by them, and is held captive. While he is forced to stay, he gains a
Philip A. Hart’s straightforward approach to life and politics led him to be loved by both Democrats and Republican alike. Over the eighteen years as a Michigan Senator, his colleagues created a nickname for him, the conscience of the Senate. Hart is a role model for Senators and civilians alike. He lived his life to the fullest and leaves a legacy for millions to appreciate.
“ You miss 100% of the shots you never take”( Wayne Gretzky). Wayne Gretzky also known as The Great One was born to be an athlete. He was born on January 26, 1961 in Brantford, Ontario Canada. Wayne Gretzky's dad was always hoping that he would have a son that would play hockey. Because Wayne Gretzky accomplished so many things in his early life, won many of awards because of his stats, and played on so many teams which he helped them succeed, Wayne Gretzky is the greatest NHL player
A year later, when he got there,it was 1002 Leif had told many people about christianity and lots of others converted. After that Eriksson went on many more adventures to places like Vinland which is a North American Continent, Northern Atlantic Coast-well,we aren’t really sure, and he even landed on the first icy region and named it Helluland. Also for some reason he just drifted off of his voyage and went back home! However, Eriksson was named “Leif The Lucky” because on his way back to his unexpected turn around to go back home, he saved a boat and that’s how he got that name he has today. Leif was kind to do that.
At a young age and even today we all have a hero; it can range from a character in movies to video games even into literature. Throughout my life I have never been one to enjoy reading or watching movies, my daily activity was playing video games meaning all the heroes to me where inside a video game. Growing up playing numberless different videos games you get a taste at such a diverse variety of worlds, story line, environments, and even items. That being, I have come to learn about quite a bit of characters and some have really stood out in being extra heroic in their actions or just being cooler than the other; Master Chief (Halo), Mario (Super Mario Bros.), and Link (Legend of Zelda).
As fun as it was, it was like running away and joining the circus, this was not moving me forward in having a deeper relationship with people or my yearning to be a part of something greater. Once, this would not have mattered. Yet, I had matured enough to recognize that I was no longer that young man. For my personal growth, I needed to move on. My taking part in the world of independent movie making did not last long, but it was a fantastic experience.
Let There Be Blood. Amazing movie in every aspect – cast, directing, cinematography, writing. It’s not directed by anyone within my holy trinity of directors – Kubrick, Tarantino, Fincher - which says a lot, but it’s a masterful film in my eyes. Should have won best picture over No Country for Old Men. As for television, X-Files will now and forever be my favorite series of all time. It’s in large part a nostalgia thing than a quality thing
Then after that I didn't really have a favorite. I just watched so many movies it got boring. Every movie was either close to another one that was made in worse quality or so wierd I couldn't follow it. But one day I walked into the living room while my mom and our exchange student were watching a movie called,
Howard Schultz took a small three-store coffee shop and grew it into the largest specialty coffee retailer in the world. With twenty-five thousand locations, 105 million customers a week, and 191 thousand employees. Let’s start with the beginning.
The first favorite movies I like is Dead Pool because I like when dead pool was walking on the road and he did not now that they were two spy’s so Dead Pool thought that they were going to hit him so he starting hitting them in their faces and their legs.
My favorite movie is probably Jaws, as young adult I found myself watching Jaws almost every time it would come on TV and feel that this film never gets old and is nothing short of a classic. This movie teeters on the edge of multiple film generes including, drama, science fiction, action & adventure, as well as horror. This movie is my favorite in large part, due to its seemingly endless replay value as well as the unveling of the Jaws story. No matter how many times I watch Jaws it just never gets old to me, I truly enjoy all of the genres the film crosses into and really enjoy how the film's score is woven into the fabric of the film and provides a companionship to the multiple emotions expereinced when watching this great film.
In high school, ceramics class was my favorite, I gained artistry and creativity. In following this talent, it lead me to branch off and pursue a career in cosmetology, creating with a new medium. I set a goal to one-day work under an idol of mine in Los Angeles. This dream seemed far-fetched, yet; I began saving my earnings and envisioning it as a reality. I eventually made the move to the city, and applied for the position as her personal assistant in Beverly Hills, soon after I scored the position. The city life definitely had many opportunities, I was learning so much from my mentor. Weekends consisted of work on creative photo shoots, fashion shows, hair competitions, model searching, etc. I committed five years to this career, and although
