7.0 Strategic Implementation
6.0 Strategic Recommendations
In order for Garmco to leverage and improve its competitive advantage, there are many recommendations for them to consider.
Firstly, in order to overcome the issue of highly depending on Alba as a supplier for raw materials, it is recommended that Garmco negotiate a contract with another supplier of raw materials that could also be cheaper in cost. This recommendation is for them to secure themselves in times of crisis, where because Alba has strength over them, it has the power to raise prices, which in return will affect them. Thus, Garmco should not limit itself to one supplier seeing that the raw materials are important for them to operate.
Secondly, Concerning high electricity consumption, which will affect Garmco when electricity prices increase, it is recommended for Garmco to invest in efficient energy technologies that will help support their commitment of reducing their energy consumption, seeing that the industry is highly energy consuming and especially electricity. Similarly, it is recommended for them to engage in related diversification by operating in a country where electricity costs are low and specifically in areas with increased hydroelectric resources and as an example, North of New

Seeing that Garmco is currently only a roller of Aluminum, and according to Lucas (2016), they see the future of their business as becoming recyclers of aluminum; it is recommended that Garmco build a recycling plant in countries where aluminum consumption is high, and in countries where they are currently operating at such as Australia, Thailand, Singapore and the United States, which in other words is diversification. This could allow them gain a competitive advantage and improve their core
In 2007, Canada’s industries saved 2.1 billion U.S. dollars of energy costs (2007). All these numbers show Canada’s efforts in general public utilities.
On the same note, the energy revolution spoken of above brings forth another advance in the ongoing global climate situation. The nature of the Kyoto Protocol calls for nations to increase research and eventually semi-convert their energy usage to accommodate for cleaner energy. Products such as solar power, wind power, biomass, geothermal power, and hydropower are now widely being studying to create processes that use less coal, oil, and natural gas in production. Altogether the results have
In 1994, Beaver built a new plant with capacity of 1,000,000 units per year outside Vancouver, British Columbia. Costs in this plant were relatively high due to high wages and taxes, and below-average labour productivity. In 2007, the company introduced new technology into this plant that made the plant more efficient, but did not increase its capacity. This technology increased labour productivity by about 20% and reduced labour costs per unit by about $1.25 (16.7%). For a plant with capacity of 1,000,000 units, the technology costs $3,000,000 to introduce. This is the first use in the industry of this new technology, which has attracted considerable interest in the industry.
Every organization should have a strategic plan to achieve its goals in a limited time period, the strategic plan has many variable models. The strategic planning process that we studied needs a collaboration between the organization’s staff, board members, and strategic plan committee. This strategic planning process has ten guide steps.
BLUF: MG Smith’s intent is to host Chris Roberts, a cybersecurity professional, to speak to leaders within the Alabama National Guard, as well as other state and civilian agencies. This presentation will focus on the threats we face in the cyber world today. MG Smith extended an invitation to Mr. Roberts as discussed in the background section of this paper. The date, location and audience are to be determined.
To prevent this type of crisis and to become up to date on the copyright laws, we here at Grokster will form a strategic plan. According to Bethel, “Strategic planning, is a process undertaken by an organization to develop a plan for achievement for its overall long-term organizational goals” (Bethel, 2011). However, there is not just one type of planning. The strategic planning process should include a situational analysis. This should include looking at the organizational objectives, and strategies to implement a strategic plan. There are a few main steps for strategic planning. Grokster will first analyze what the company's condition is by forming a SWOT analysis. This is an evaluation of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The next step would be to develop a
Costco operates two websites, www.costco.com in the United States and www.costco.ca in Canada. When looking for investment opportunities, whilst analyzing the trends in a company’s financials may paint a fairly accurate picture of their financial standing, and allow for prediction in years to come, without first properly addressing environmental factors that affect the company, one cannot come to an informed decision about where or not to invest. The predominant categories these fall under being political, social, economic and technological, there are certain facets that prove more important than others. In terms of Suncor Energy, there is no one most important factor, as each interconnects with the others to make up that which is the competitive environment. To begin with, the economic environment affects Suncor, both on a local and global scale.
Currently, new investments in low-emissions generation does not costcompetitive with the current generation (which high initial capital costs now sunk). This, along with the ability to excess supply in the NEM and barriers at the exit of the current generator, which means that the current generators can operate for some time. This means that there is an incentive to invest in reducing emissions of new (or any other) generation of electricity. There is a need for a policy to limit emissions intensity of the display. RET and accelerate deployment of renewable electricity generation. This can increase the acceleration of policies that create a low emissions generating additional demand. It is important that policies and incentives, stable, due to the long life of power generation assets. Deployment of low-emissions technologies, such as geothermal energy and CCS emerging, high risk and capital intensity. There may be a need for public support or policy to make the publication of these financial technologies, unless additional income available source. In addition, technology, price and logistical problems delayed the progress of these special techniques in recent years. As a result, experts from the electricity sector in general, do not expect to contribute significant
The Quest is a carries on from where the author’s award winning book The Prize left of with the expulsion of Iraqi forces from Kuwait, and the imminent fragmentation of the Soviet Union, which concluded with the rise of OPEC, and the profound resulting shift in the axis of world power, as developed nations adjusted to a new and relatively less self-sufficient reality. It explores the multifaceted world of the modern oil and gas industry, with new game changers, both as producers (Brazil, Central Asian), and also as consumers (the emerging economies of the BRICS nations). He explores the critical importance of electricity, this he characterized as the many essentials of modern society and communication, such as Ipads, smartphones, laptop computers, electronic books, all these “gadgetwatts” as he calls them, account for the bulk use of electricity. He expresses himself to be an advocate in anthropogenic climate change; he summaries the struggles in reaching any kind of international accord, but determines that the growing awareness of its impact is encouraging greater energy efficiency and above all an interest in renewables.

On energy, Novo Nordisk has taken a pledged with RE100, which is a company that is committed to 100% renewable power that aid the transition to a lower carbon economy. This will reduce the consumption of electricity in their companies with the action of engaging in electricity products from renewable sources such as biomass or biogas. (novonordisk.com)
The price of electrical energy is also contributing for the increase of inflation. Brazil’s electrical energy is mainly produced by
By taking the position as Raj Bhatt, Business Development manager of GE Canada, I am comfortable and confident that energy efficiency is an attractive industry and business opportunity. What makes Raj Bhatt believe that the Energy Efficiency projects will be successful in Canada is that the project helps not only the ESCo, which conducts the performance-based contracting, but also the customers, who are more aware of the benefits of Energy Efficiency project. The Energy Efficiency project will optimize the energy usage, including conservation, use of efficient equipment and off peak usage. Even though the project has required intensive initial capital investment and long payback period, it will
