The Up Series documents the lives of fourteen children in a longitudinal study. The filmmaker interviews these fourteen individuals every seven years to examine how their lives progress over time and to examine how their socioeconomic status affects their life. In this paper, Suzy will be examined from age 7 to age 56. Over the course of the Up Series, Suzy’s personality and priorities changed dramatically in almost all of the aspects of her life. From the small bits and pieces of her life that were captured and shown on the series, the course her life could have taken could have been much different. Her story shows that one life event can change the course of your whole life. In the end Suzy was the poster child of how one life event can change the rest of your life. She is not necessarily the poster child for wealth, prosperity and privilege that the series paint her to be. Initially, she was because that was the type of person the filmmaker wanted to portray her as. However, in the end, she was successful at portraying herself very differently. It took her many years to do so, but she was able to do it. By the end of the series, Suzy changed the way she portrays herself, and much of this change has to do with the life events she has experienced. She experienced being a resistant child and young adult on the series, losing a parent at a young age, finding a successful marriage and experiencing financial instability. Initially the progressive began as a social movement and grew into a political one. The goals of the movement varied addressing issues such as increasing democracy in the government, the improvement of working and social conditions and identifying and correcting issues of corrupted power.

When students reach their junior and senior years of high school, they are faced with pressure from teachers, counselors, and parents to choose and apply to colleges. Instead of succumbing to the pressure, some students choose to pursue careers with no degree necessary or careers in the military. Other students are still left contemplating whether or not college is worth the financial strain. When other factors such as future career earnings, personal growth, and potential friendships and relationships are considered, it becomes clear that college truly is worth the cost.

College is a great opportunity for high school graduates through it may not seem exciting or entertaining but it will be worth it once students start finding jobs after their studies. College is a great start for anyone's future because it would impact each person's knowledge in the future and develop students characteristics once they start to find a well-paying job.

Throughout the process of developing our own position, we must draw ideas from other people. This process is called synthesis, as it involves considering various viewpoints in order to create a new viewpoint. However, it is extremely important to know as much as possible about the topic. The main point of synthesizing sources is to enter the conversation that society is having, with logical evidence to back yourself up. But, when looking for reliable source, be aware of a bias that the source might bring to the topic. A writer must analyze the rhetorical situation, even when it comes to sources and documentation. As we further develop skills in writing synthesis essays, the sources that we use will inform our position on the topic. Throughout the essay, the main event is what we have to say, your position is central. There is a majority of university students worldwide who have something in common: they have no idea what they will do after they graduate. Some students may have several ideas came out, but they never make them come true. There are plenty of people who have difficulty to know what they are passionate in, and even they can do but most never have the extraordinary drive necessary to go for their dreams. At this difficult time, there is a book walked to me, “Major in Success” written by Patrick Combs, which is a book that is to help people find their true dream job and become successful, and also it helped me find the true purpose of studying in university.

Throughout the world, there has been those wanting change. This is unavoidable in society as the oppressed will want to gain power to be equals, at least, to their “superiors”. People do whatever they can to gain power whether that means with money or social status. These things that signify power are what drives people to become desperate for equality. Any means of achieving the goal of ending inequality between sexes, races and religions would be used to gain even the smallest sliver of hope for status among others. If there was not the benefit from having the advantage of having social status to gain money in anyway possible people would not find the need to fight for their equality.

The most difficult aspect with this paper is determining who I want to be when I grow older, for the sake of this paper I will provide a poem and go in-depth on the relevance and importance to becoming who I want to become through this poem and Napoléon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich”.
