The series will go to great lengths in discovering the emotional truths of being a twenty something out of college and trying to survive in Singapore. Again and again the series returns to a line of dialogue that runs some variation of ‘follow your dreams’ and recurs throughout.

Everyone in in the show is very much human and the drama arises from every day dealings as they try to cope with finding themselves. The only comedy that arises from the show's situations is human comedy, not obvious comedy purporting a stereotyped idea of music and musicians. Music plays an important role in the series as it symbolises the very need to finding your sound, your voice, your identity.

Aspirations and ambitions plays a huge role in the series, and questions the idea of dreams. Do dreams actually make you happy? Or does the idea of the dream and hope for a better life constantly shut us down and depress us as we constantly believe that we should be happier. Fareez’s character embodies the rigid and constant need in ourselves for a better life and the search for happiness, whereas Vanessa is the complete opposite of him. She is the embodiment of the free-spirit that is not tied down to a singular dream and that her happiness comes from the present. …show more content…

However many are still unsure of what they would like to do in their life. Does this make them a failure? This thirst will also inevitably place an individual in a position where they have to choose between an ethical or unethical decision to achieve success. These daily challenges that we face as part of the learning curve of adulthood is constantly thrown at our protagonists in the show. At the end of the day, do our dreams, our career make who we are?
