He served as general and commander in chief of the Revolutionary War, and was later chosen as one of the seven Virginia delegates to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in May 1787. During the colonial period, the New World was under rule by the British. When the British went to war with the French, the French were defeated and Great Britain gained full access over North America. After the war ended, the British were in debt and were in great need of money. They decided to obtain that money from the colonists by passing laws and acts forcing the colonists to pay taxes. The citizens of the colonies were not happy with these orders in place by Parliament, so they decided to rebel. By rebelling, the colonists received severe punishments for their actions from Parliament which eventually led to the start of the revolution. What revolutionary means is being devoted and dedicated to a change that a person wants to make happen in an establishment or organization. Being revolutionary can be seen throughout history and until now with great people making a big difference in society as historical figures such as George Washington,

George Washington is regarded as a natural leader and the father of our country. He was the first president under the Constitution, not the first president of the United States. From the very beginning, he came into a job full of problems and a mile long to-do list. He had to set up the Judiciary Branch, deal with uprisings and conflicts between the natives and the western settlers, and try to keep together a nation that was falling apart. He created a group of advisors (the cabinet) to help him with certain issues. He had a few things on his mind at the time such as: stay out of a war, build up revenue to pay off Revolutionary War debt, and try to make peace with England.
One of founder fathers, George Washington, was born on February 22, 1732, in Westmoreland County, Va. As Augustine's second marriage to Mary Ball transpired, he became their first child, making him the eldest of their six children. Washington's family was able to prosper through farming and land speculation. During the tender age of 11, he lost his beloved father and was put in the care of his mother, Mar Ball Washington. Luckily, he later spent his days with his two elder brothers, which was in his case helped him avoid a life illiteracy. His older brother, Lawrence, was able to teach Washington trigonometry and surveying. Not only these particular subject, he helped him cultivate a taste for ethics, music, novels, and the theater. George Washingtons aspirations for military service may have came from his brother, Lawrence, who was ranking officer in the Virginia militia and also served with Admiral Edward Vernon. Without his brother influence, Washington may have not become the great military general he was.

George Washington was the first president of The United States. Before that George Washington lead though the British Proclamation Act of 1763—prohibiting settlement beyond the Alleghenies—irritated him and he opposed the Stamp Act of 1765, Washington did not take a leading role in the growing colonial resistance against the British until the widespread protest of the Townshend Acts in 1767. His letters of this period indicate he was totally opposed to the colonies declaring independence.
As many great leaders and founding fathers of our country, George Washington has contributed many actions, and speeches that make our country what it is today. Our country has six founding fathers in total including: John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and last of all George Washington. I specifically picked George Washington as my essay because, I have never gone in depth about how he has truly contributed to our country and what he has done that changed and transformed our country to where it is now.
Before being elected President, Washington was an avid land surveyor an occupation which he entered into while still in his early teens and which he continued throughout his life. Washington was a outdoorsman which naturally suited him to chart the Virginia backcountry. He was credited with completing nearly 200 surveys totaling thousands of acres of land. Washington received his commission as surveyor from the college of William and Mary, which is still in operation today. Washington's surveying career was given a big boost when he was invited to join a team of surveyors organized by his acquaintance George William Fairfax of Belvoir. Fairfax was one of the most influential Virginians. The purpose

George Washington was the first president of the United States of America. Before he assumed his presidency he was Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolution.
A founding father of America, James Butler, stated during the first Presidential elections, that “many of the members cast their eyes towards General Washington, as President, and shaped their ideas of the powers to be given a President, by their opinions of his virtue” (“George Washington” 127). He meant that George Washington was a man that, in the eyes of all the chair-holders, fit all the categories that a President should have. America at the time of George Washington was a colony of England. For over 150 years, England was the dominant power that controlled the do’s and don’t of the people living there. However, with the accumulation of laws and acts passed by the British, the Colonial Americans began to revolt. George Washington was one of these rebelling Americans. He acted as a leader for the Americans and surpassed the military and political powers in Europe. George Washington became the first American President because of his popularity, his respect as a great military leader, and also because of his early political career; after accomplishing his goal of liberating America and becoming the first President, he established the idea of a culturally unified country, improved foreign policy, and also legalized laws and acts that are still in effect to this date.
President Washington was seated at his desk in the oval office turned and looking out the window thinking about how quickly events were moving and how much control did he really have over them. He had his concerns about the military and if they really needed civilian leadership at this time or was he in the way? Or was he being paranoid? He had a sizeable military force heading his way from Pennsylvania which might be able to topple the current government. His own military was sizing up the situation, he really became aware of a change in the situation he saw several tanks moving down Pennsylvania Blvd towards the White House. Then took up positions around it, guarding it, was it to protect him or were they his jailer. President
