On the September 7th, 1996 a famous rapper of Death Row Records, named Tupac Shakur was killed after attending a Mike Tyson boxing match at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. After the match, hotel surveillance video captured Tupac Shakur and entourage attacking Orlando Anderson in the MGM Grand lobby. Anderson was a member of the South side Crips who had robbed a member of Death Row Records earlier that year. Following the assault on Anderson, shots were fired into the vehicle Tupac and Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight were traveling in while sitting at a stoplight a block away from the crowded Las Vegas Strip. A white Cadillac pulled up to the right side of Knight’s BMW and fired multiple rounds into the vehicle. Tupac Shakur was hit in the chest, pelvis and his right hand
In the book “Decoded,” rapper and businessman Jay-Z describes the emergence of hip hop culture while sharing his childhood memories, life challenges, and passions. Along with Jay-Z’s personal narrative, he provides an explanation for his song lyrics to educate readers about hip hop’s importance, his life, and national issues. Thus, he creates several arguments about hip hop’s purpose in the music industry. Two of Jay-Z’s main arguments consisted of hip hop being a form of art and the story of a hustler. This is especially true when considering how Jay-Z defines hip hop, analyzes supporting evidence, and interprets rap lyrics.
Hip hop’s recieved a bad reputation within the last decade. It is known to negatively influence the younger generation. In the article, “America’s Hip Hop Double-Standard” Perkins asserts that the real issue is that men, black and white, no longer are able to financially support their families. This could be leading to poor behavior and decisions, and could be cqausing people of all ages to listen to hip-hop. In other words, Perkins believes that “as a genre, it references, violance, poor choices, drug use, and a general disrespect towards authority and towards women. The fact that its popularity at all just says a lot about us” (“Does Hip”). Maybe if hip hop wasn’t around, the degrading of women wouldn’t be so bad, maybe drugs wouldn’t be
It is no secret Snoop Dogg likes to smoke marijuana. But apparently more than that, he likes to invest in marijuana. Snoop has his paws on a number of marijuana business lines and he continues to expand.
Tupac Shakur is often regarded as one of the greatest rappers of all time. He was born on June 16, 1972 in East Harlem, New York City, New York to Afeni Shakur. Tupac was almost born in prison because of Afeni’s involvement in the black nationalist group the Black Panther Party. Luckily she was acquitted one month before Tupac was born. Tupac loved his mother and dedicated a song for her titled “Dear Mama”.
Tupac Amaru Shakur was a very influential person who overcame many difficulties. Tupac was a rapper of truth that spoke about the things that go on in the “Hood” and the unjust police. He was treated differently because he was black and was even arrested for jaywalking. After he was arrested he was beaten by the cops who wanted him to “learn his place”(Joseph 29). This shows how bad Tupac had it because he was African American. Tupac died an early death at 25 because of a brewing rivalry between the East and West Coast rappers. Shakur was a person who would stand up for what he believed in no matter the cost and died fighting for that. He never let anyone win a battle that he was determined to win and always knew what he was fighting for. His mother was the same, as a loyal member of the Black Panther Party, a group that protected all African Americans from police brutality. Tupac was literally born to be a fighter and carried on his mother's legacy. Despite his rough life, Tupac Shakur became one of the most influential rappers of all time.

Kanye West also known as "Yeezy" is American rapper, fashion disaster, and also music producer. People may say that Mr. West is our youth of today voice. He has made a tremendous mark in the music and fashion industry. As we all know Mr. West is known for having his moments. It is safe to say that he has the best and top “omg” Moments, such as interrupting Taylor Swift at the VMA’s. Kanye in the begging when he first came on the hip hop scene was this calm, joyful, his music in my eyes was the most different music out at the time, just because he wasn’t rapping about what everyone else was. Kanye was one of those joyful guys, everybody wanted him on his record or produce it. Then a tragic event occurred where his mom died. After then you see
What if you were innocent but put at death row? Would you still want this as a system of justice? Innocent people die every year as the “justice” system isn’t just. The death penalty should be abolished considering it is a cruel punishment, which our eight amendment is clearly against.
If there was a way to have a better life for you and your loved ones would you take it? Or would you rather not take the opportunity and struggle throughout the rest of your life, this will happen by world overpopulation. In the past, Overpopulation started out from the baby boom which increased the birthrate, and according to Ewan Mcleish the author of “Overcrowded World, (16)” he stated that it made 40% of the national population. Today, overpopulation is a national crisis, and it will affect us much worse in the future. So my solution to world overpopulation is to eliminate the elderly 72 and over. By supporting my proposal, this will decrease the population rate and make us have a better living and a better economy for the future.
