This means that Jay saw Hae dead in the trunk of her own car, with Adnan by his side. Furthermore, this shows that Jay was the only one to witness seeing Hae dead, which means that Jay didn’t have an alibi to back him up with his accusation. Apart from some fingerprints in Hae’s car, which Adnan has been in many times, there was nothing linking him to the crime-- no DNA, no fibers, no hairs, no matching soils from the bottom of his boots,” (Ep. 1, p. 6). Here, Sarah is making the point that there was no proof that Adnan was the one who actually killed Hae. In the first version of his alibi he didn’t tell cops that he was with his friend Jen throughout the day and during the time Hae was killed but in the second version he did. He told the police that he indeed did go to the mall but told the cops two different malls, in the second version he says that him and Adnan meet at Security Square Mall and then leave to get high and while they’re gone Adnan supposedly makes the vicious act of murder. In the first version Jay said that he did not help Adnan bury Hae that all he did was bring shovels to make the burial easier, but in his second version he says he did help Adnan bury Hae. It was an ordinary day for students attending Woodlawn High School in Baltimore, Maryland. Nothing really eventful or special that day. Hae Min Lee was on her way to pick up her younger brother from school when suddenly she vanished.

There has been a lot of speculation and internal conflict as to who committed Hae’s murder. At some points, I thought that surely Adnan had done it. However at other points, there was no way that he had killed her. Based on the lack of physical evidence against him, I do not believe that Adnan committed the murder.

Although I believe adnan is guilty because he killed hae, some may argue he is innocent because he was a good kid. This reason makes sense because he volunteers to help the community. This part of the story is when adnan and his friends are going to say all of the good things he did. Most people in the community are saying that he was a great kid but he still did bad stuff in the low. This proves that he is innocent because most people knows adnan and most people are saying he was a good guy.

Hae Min lee was a Woodlawn High school senior in Baltimore, Maryland who disappeared on January 13, 1999. Described as popular and always really happy by teachers. Firstly, the Nisha call placed Adnan with Jay after the murder. This call could have been a butt-dial that rang for 2 minutes. The call could have been from Adnan, who wanted to make Jay talk with Nisha. The Nisha call does not prove Adnan killed Hae, as it simply just puts him with Jay at the time. Also, the prosecution stated that Adnan was constantly doing bad things. Everyone does bad things, but it does not make them murderers. Finally, Jay knew the location of Hae’s car. The fact that Jay knew the location of Hae’s car should arouse suspicion on him. One reason why there is not enough significant evidence to convict Adnan is that fact that Jay’s testimony was very inaccurate. For one thing, each time Jay testifies he lies, and the cops know it. When he was asked by the detective why he lied about where Hae was killed,

Every time Jay was asked to give his testimony his story changed and he never really had an exact story of what happened that day or why Adnan would have killed Hae Min Lee. In the trial testimony Jay was asked why Adnan killed Hae and he said, "because Hae made him mad." In Jay's second testimony he responded to the same question with a different reason "because Hae had broken his heart."

I think that it wasn’t Adnan that killed Hae but Jay did it. I think that he did it because he knew where Hae’s car was parked. I feel like Jay should have gotten some punishment when they convicted Adnan because he was an accessory to murder . I feel like he did it because he seems to tell a lot of people about it to point the finger at Adnan.
