Many people have inspired me to grow to be and be a teacher during my Cornwell experience. But Mrs. Silkes has inspired me the most.Mrs. Silkes has inspired me because she loves to teach kids you can tell she is very nice and kind. Mrs. Silkes has been very kind to me because My Grandma’s twin sister my Great Aunt died in october of 3rd grade when I had Mrs. Silkes. Thats when I started getting anxiety it was really bad and I did not know how to control it. She helped me calm down. It was hard to get my mind off of My Great Aunt. I was very close to her and she was every healthy It was a huge surprise when she died. We were all sad and to see my grandma
I had always adored being in the classroom with her and trying to learn what she was teaching her classes, although they were much higher above my learning level. I had gone to the school with her for a couple years up until the time she had retired. This was an important aspect of my life because as I got older, English was always my strong point in school. Having her teach me how to read and write helped me become advanced in my English classes. I had always gotten high grades in all of my English courses or I was always put in the higher level reading groups at school. My grandmother really helped me establish a broad range of vocabulary; with this I was able to write quite well even as a young child in my younger
She made learning fun and always rewarded academics and behavior. She showed me the importance of building relationships with my students. I make it a habit of eating lunch with my students every day and discussing matters that are important to them. I also had some wonderful teachers and experience at Daniel Middle school. My senior year at Jordan High School was a very difficult year. Halfway through the school year, I found out I was pregnant. Then, at six months pregnant my water broke and I was hospitalized and continued my education from my hospital room. Nonetheless, my teachers (especially Mrs. Jacobs) supported and encouraged me and I could graduate with my class. In a nutshell, the compassion and dedication from many teachers, faculty, principals, of the Muscogee County School District influenced me to become a teacher. I strongly feel that my story greatly impacts how I teach. It is my desire that many of my students that come from low economic conditions like I did will know that their teacher cares for them and that someone is on their side. Moreover, I would like to instill in them that your environment does not have to determine your future. I want them to know that I grew up just like them and just like I graduated from high school and college
Most people have or have had a teacher that has inspired them. For me, the teacher that comes to mind is Mr. Rod Edson. There are many great things that describe Mr. Edson, but a few stand out to me more than others. Mr. Edson has inspired me in many ways because he has a great sense of humor, he is laid-back, and he is motivational.
Wiest took the time to listen to my troubles and work with me outside of class. She even invited me to come drink tea in her office if I needed a break or was not feeling well. But more importantly, she helped me put everything into perspective and I made some tough decisions. I cut down on my work hours, took a few months off from orchestra, took less volunteer opportunities, and learned to prioritize my responsibilities. Mrs. Wiest also helped me with my work when I was falling behind and let me take her finals at different times to balance my work load. I panicked when everything got difficult, but she supported me. If any teacher has made an impact on me during my academic career, it was certainly Mrs. Wiest. She goes above and beyond for her students and wants everyone to succeed. With her help, I was able to succeed during a very rough
She is a great inspiration to me, and inspires me even more to become a teacher.
My teacher inspired me to go above and beyond my normal capabilities, and to reach out to others that were in distress. He inspired me to become a better leader, a better person, and a good role model for many kids in the classes below me. David Glasscock was his name, he is a generous man he invests in other to provide them with the tools necessary to be successful. Without his words of advice, I most likely wouldn´t be the same person that I am today.
One of the questions I asked her was “What skills and personal qualities are important for success in your field?” after I asked this question she told me that some of the keys that make a successful teacher is someone who is patient and loves kids. She also said that being a teacher is one of the most rewarding jobs to have because no other occupation is possible without a teacher. Her response made me think about myself and made me realize that I really do want to be a teacher.
People ask me who inspires me the most in the world and the ones that pop right into mind are my mother and Mrs. Napoli. Mama Naps is the only one who left a lasting impression in my life. She has done so much for other students including myself. She always goes out of her way to make sure her ‘kids’ are always flourishing.
During my life I have had several teachers with who I hold in high regard. Mr. Anthony Arico, Mr. Marty Berger, and Mrs. Edna Thomas to name a few. Even though all of the above named teachers had a very profound effect on my life; my all-time favorite teacher would be SSG Daniel Spencer retired. He was my ROTC instructor for approximately two years and has been a mentor throughout my adult life.
My fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Wilsey, has influenced my life. Right before I entered fifth grade, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. Crohn’s Disease is an incurable disease that causes inflammation throughout my entire gastrointestinal tract. While in fifth grade, I had to miss numerous days of school because of the treatments I would receive during the school day that was three hours away, as well as suffering from complications due to my Crohn’s Disease. Even though I was worried about falling behind in my classwork, Mrs. Wilsey was always there for me and guiding me through the most difficult time of my life. She was always willing to help me get caught up with the assignments I missed, and she would allow me to have extra time to make
This inspired me to teach. The teachers I have had who stand out in my memory have
One of the influential people that made a huge impact in my life is my college professor who told me to never settle for less. She encouraged me to push the envelope and attempt to do things that are out-of-the-box. Her credentials and accomplishment in teaching is, for lack of a better word, overwhelming. She is strict, but fair. She saw my potential in teaching and told me that being a great teacher requires 4C's and 1P: competence, compassion, character, commitment, and passion. These are the things that remember by heart. Every time someone asks me who is my role model in teaching, I would always tell them that Mrs. Edith L. Ortega is the person I look up to up to this time. Even though she is nearing retirement, she still managed to keep
Mrs. West sets a great example for me. She makes class so much fun, and helps
Over the summer I went to a Hopkins summer camp, where I had a biology teacher named Mrs. Cox. Mrs. Cox was one of the best teachers I had ever had. She was always so energetic and excited about every single project we did. One of the most memorable experiences was towards the end of the week, we did something I had never done before. We made DNA Necklaces.
Growing up I have been fortunate enough to have been taught by some truly inspirational teachers and I am well aware of the effect they have had on my life and the choices I have made subsequently. My own passion for working with young children extends from wanting to emulate those role models and have the same impact on other children.
