The purpose of this study is to see how the integration of technology would impact the student’s enthusiasm for learning science in Mr. Hollis’s Science classroom. The integration of technology will involve teaching and learning that will foster a learning experience that will help students develop the knowledge and the skills to promote technology literacy. Per Hollis, he was motivated and had interests in integrating technology equipment and software in his curriculum using multimedia computer presentations.

He again surveyed the students asking the same questions that he asked before. Per Mr. Hollis, “On the pre-study survey, 49% of the students were enthusiastic or very enthusiastic about doing science away from school, while only 28% of the students were enthusiastic or very enthusiastic on the post-project survey. When the students were asked how they had liked learning science so far, this year, their responses again showed an increase in enthusiasm for learning science. On the pre-study survey, 70% of the students were enthusiastic or very enthusiastic about learning science during the first half of their eighth-grade year, while 81% of the students were enthusiastic on the post-study survey. The parent surveys (see Table 2) showed that 60% of the parents considered their children enthusiastic or very enthusiastic about learning science both before and after the study. These surveys did show that 20% of the parents felt that their children were unenthusiastic about learning science before the study. When asked how enthusiastic their child was about doing science activities at home, 40% of the parents noted that their children were enthusiastic or very enthusiastic about doing science activities at home on the pre-project survey. On the post-project survey, 60% of the parents reported that their child was enthusiastic or very enthusiastic about doing science activities at home” (Hollis, 1995).
Ethics The ethical issues
Technology of the past 20 years has become a focal point of teaching and learning. As a teacher, it is my job to facilitate the learning for an individual by creating an environment that not only conducive for learning, but also places the child in a position to discover and learn them for themselves. Technology has given teachers to opportunity to take learning beyond the classroom, and has begun to reshape their role in the learning process.

Incorporating technology in the classroom is a leading trend among educators in the 21st century. Teacher use classroom websites, technology tools, and online web assessments to keep parents and students informed, improve instruction, and individualize learning. Using technology to support communication helps keep both students and parents informed on what is happening in the classroom and the students’ academic progress. Integrating technology in the classroom helps increase student engagement and participation. Students use technology tools to help reinforce instruction and teachers may use it as a form of remediation. Technology can also help with differentiating instruction with the use of online assessments. Incorporating technology in the classroom can increase students’ success in the classroom and beyond.

Integrate technology is the only way that we can have a bright future! There are many very intelligent students hoping to get somewhere in life, but how can these students progress if they do not have enough access to technology. Technology is growing at a rapid rate in our country and many students still do not have enough access to be prepared in life. Students rely heavily on technology. There are many reasons why students rely on technology as heavily as they do and some of those reasons are, progression in life, new style of learning and also teaches children responsibility.
Integrating other learning areas in our unit of work and exercising more resources that teachers can use in the classroom base upon our science unit is also a crucial element that our group was missing that needed to be included in our presentation. The classroom environment should include lots of books, visual materials, ICT devices and activities to facilitate learning and keep the student’s interests by promoting questioning and discussion to stimulate their science thinking processes and skills in a creative and encouraging environment. In the articles “What Is The Future Of Technology In Education?” by Matt Britland and “New Class(room) War: Teacher vs Technology” by Samuel G. Freedman, two different viewpoints are expressed toward technology integration education. The authors show the implications of technology on the attitudes of teachers and students. Britland and Freedman agree that technology and theoretical framework are two inseparable facets but propose different solutions to the actions that should be taken to result in pedagogical expertise.
In 9th grade, I began tutoring every Tuesday after school and this continued through 10th grade. During that time, I discovered that my students had a negative disposition towards science. Many saw science as "boring." I wanted to change that idea, to help them realize the wonders of science, to prove that science is fascinating and entertaining. The following summer, I prepared my proposal and pitched my ideas to Mr. Terrence Davis, Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Hopkinsville.
This article explores the evolving landscape in education, where increased use of technology is not only recommended, but is essential. It explains the learning styles of millennials and digital natives, and compares them to “traditional” learners. The article makes it clear that teachers must be willing to adapt their teaching style to meet the needs of today’s students. This study was an action research inquiry, using the mixed methods model. Quantitative data was gathered through survey answers and observation checklists. Interviews and focus groups provided the qualitative data. The results of the study reveal that students who received instructions through technology were more engaged in the activity and asked fewer questions than the students who received the instructions verbally. The students that were guided by technology were also more reflective about their learning and were more excited about the project. The self-proclaimed weakness of this study is its relatively small scale. It recommends that a larger scale study be completed in the future. That being said, this study does seem to confirm Gagne’s principal of the importance of gaining the attention of the learner. With the explosion of technological advances in the 21st century comes the increased need for the incorporation of technology in the educational field. The classrooms in America can all benefit from the use of technology to increase the understanding of academic content whether in the general education or special education setting.

Technology is everywhere, it is involved in almost every part of our culture. It affects how we live, work, play, and most importantly learn. With technology being such a fundamental part of our lives and growing each day, it only makes sense that schools incorporate technology in the classrooms. Even though many people support the use of technology in schools, there are those that have concerns about the effectiveness of technology and whether or not it undermines education to solely prepare students for the workforce. Despite the concerns, technology is being integrated with classroom lessons daily, and proving how beneficial it is for student success.
The practical application of technological tools in public schools across the United States has accumulated an excessive amount of both issues and benefits. The particular amount of funds spent on technological tools was prompted by a thought that children will be able to explore, evaluate and assess information much faster, effectively and positively due to the fact that technological advancement is evident on a global scale. This particular analysis will determine the learning gap that exists as a result of students’ lack of engagement with technology in public K-12 schools across the United States.
There is much in the literature regarding the use of technology in education. According to Dede (2009), Banister (2010), Peled and Schocken (2014), my topic can be characterized as technology in education is an effective tool for motivating student engagement, increasing academic success, and providing new environments for students to learn. Thus, the more technology that is incorporated in a students’ earlier grades, the more inclined they will be to prefer that type of instruction in their latter years. It is an important topic with respect to education because the wave of new technology is increasing at rate never before seen in the field of education. These articles track the study of technology use in the field, and how they are beneficial for my study of technology in education. All of the articles support the idea of the use of technology in education, and each represent a different aspect in which technology can improve a child’s education.
