For this paper I was asked to define an information system and types of information systems, Provide three examples of information systems used in real life and tell us what type of information systems they are and how are they related to the learning objectives for this module. I have picked three examples of information systems in real life applications, they are: Pandora radio (decision support system), cashier register (transaction processing system) and Facebook (office automation system). Information system are vital to knowledge management, they provide a simple system to ensure the success of not only businesses, but national defense as well. * Define an information system and types of information systems

Office Automation System:
Office automation systems can take many forms, but their primary function remains the same throughout, and that is to facilitate information exchange between people in an organization. Some of these systems may include word processors, spreadsheets, email clients, file sharing systems, databases, etc. The main benefit behind this type of technology is that the more freely that information flows around an office, the more productive the environment is. With the increase in production, the organization can raise its profits considerably as the efficiency of data exchange increases, allowing a decrease in the time it takes to deliver the product to the customer. Resources are selected as part of my formative observations and planning system and reflect the requirements of the EYFS curriculum (Early Education/DfE,2012). When observing children’s play, it allows me to identify the child’s interests, how they learn and what is required to develop their learning further. As a practitioner I can then provide varied opportunities within my planning to support development.(KS1)

Good analysis of two practical cases of real businesses adopting e-business practices to compete more effectively.
Sensory loss can frequently lead to isolation and frustration at not being able to communicate efficiently with other people. With hearing loss, day-to-day activities such as hearing a doorbell, using the telephone, watching television or taking part in conversations can produce feelings of inadequacy within the individual. Not being able to distinguish faces, read the time on a clock or drive can produce the same feelings in a person who has vision loss. Hearing loss interferes with face-to-face communication and can often cause older people to lose
This essay highlights and discusses models of disability reflected in two separate articles (Appendices A and B). I will identify the models of disability they represent. Both have been recently featured in the Guardian newspaper and are stories on disabled people.
1.1. When assessing development some factors need to be taken into account one of these is confidentiality, this means that you will need permission from a child’s parents/carers before doing observations, also when information is wrote down about a child is important that it is kept in a safe place were only the relevant people can access it. Also making sure that information about a child is only shared with parents/carers or colleagues and professionals that have the right to know. Another factor to take into account is a child’s wishes and feelings, this means to take into account the child’s wishes when doing an observation or assessment. The child may not want to be assessed at
In Paris in the late 19th century (1874-1882), several artists who called themselves the Anonymous Society of Painters, Sculptors, Printmakers, etc. organized an exhibit that launched the movement called Impressionism. These artists, such as Eduoard Manet, Edgar Degas, Claude Monet, Pierre Auguste Renoir, and Mary Cassatt, sparked worldwide following and revolutionized Western conceptions of painting. Appearing to other artists to be a group, these independent painters with quite diverse artistic approaches, were only unified in their rejection by the official annual Salon (the Académie des Beaux-Arts which is a French academic organization that
The five major components of an information system are as follows (1) to (5); (1) Hardware, multiple computer systems: microcomputers, minicomputers, and mainframes. (2) Software- computer software falls into two categories; systems software and applications software. Systems software manages the resources of the computer system and simplifies programming. Application Software is a program that directly assists end users in doing their work. Both can be purchased as ready-to-use packages. (3) Networks and communication facilities, includes Internet and intranets. This hardware and software facilitates fast and efficient transmission and reception of text, pictures and
Of all the naturally occurring events on Earth, earthquakes are among the most devastating and bring a lot of truth to the statement, “Just because something is natural does not mean it is not dangerous.” Earthquakes are one of the most natural things I can think of that can cause massive damage and loss of human live in many instances, and the effects are sometimes long term. “Nothing happens without a force. Many geophysicists accept the theory that continents move as a result of the forces generated by mantel convection deep within Earth – motions driven by our planet’s internal heat energy” (Trefil & Hazen, 2010). According to National Geographic (1996-2012), constant movement in the tectonic plates that make up the Earth’s
The third source showed that England had invaded many other countries in the world. They wanted resources to expand their economy. The early foundation of global trading networks such as interchange of good among people replaced by systems of government sponsored international business ventures designed to make European monarch rich. Only the Europeans benefited from this Eurocentric policy, indigenous people were exploited. Raw materials from these invaded countries were shipped from North and South America, Africa, and Asia to Europe so the European can expand their manufacturing industries. Places of the production got shifts from homes to large factories. The increased manufacturing leads to industrialization. The production techniques

This poster talks about how we waste our scarce resources. This poster is made of text, images and shapes. the images are the images of the toilet seat and the globe. The shapes are circular and the text is “Waste” and “Water.” Once these elements are integrated we get a clear picture of what the designer is trying to convey through this poster. The message is to create awareness of how people tend to waste resources, especially water. I believe that this poster communicates its message successfully as the message is very clear and bold.

To help support this every organisation has an Information system. The UK academy for Information Systems defines information systems as “the means by which organisations and people, using information technologies, gather, process, store, use and disseminate information”
An information system is a base in today’s business world. Everything is electronic. In various businesses, the survival and ability to succeed strategic business goals is challenging without extensive use of information system. Businesses improve the efficiency of their operations in order to accomplish higher profitablity.
