Interview Analysis In the mock interview of Kendra Snow several codes emerged: building relationships with students, parents, and coworkers, student centered, help students reach goals, dedication, enthusiastic, strives for achievement, technology capable, conflict resolution, communication, collaboration, and learning for a lifetime. These codes where they placed into groups so common themes emerge. Group one consisted of student centered, help students reach goals, strive for achievement, conflict resolution, and building relationships with students; these five codes lead to the theme of student empowerment. Then next group contained building relationships with parents and coworkers, communication, and collaboration; these all lead to the theme of interpersonal skills. The final …show more content…

Two of these themes correlate directly with the mission statement previously created; lifelong learner and student empowerment. A student centered candidate who is a lifelong learner would be able to “provide a safe and effective learning environment in order to develop students with active and creative minds, a sense of worldly understanding, critical thinking skills, self-reliance, a compassion for others and a love of learning.” as stated in the mission statement. Most of the codes and all three of the themes; student empowerment, interpersonal skills, and lifelong learner; were directly addressed in the job application previously created. Interpersonal skills is addressed in the job description as a, “team member willing to collaborate.” Lifelong learner follows along with, “Willing to attend professional development and educational training, pursuing a lifelong learning objective” as stated in the job description. Being able to motivate and engage students is also a big part of the job description and was shown in the theme student
