Kendra Snow Interview

I have had the pleasure of working in many diverse work settings over my lifetime, several of which allowed me to help students with their academic, personal, and social development. Throughout these experiences my persistence, initiative and above all, my desire to serve students has driven my success. I have no doubt these characteristics will continue to drive my success in this program.

As a student affairs practitioner I believe I am a cornerstone of the higher education experience. I have made it my mission to help students be the best version of themselves for the benefit of not only them, but of society at large. I work to help create not only educated students, but also engaged members of a global society.

I see students as the next generations’ heroes in so many fields. In my vision, I have to inspire students and prepare them with confidence, knowledge, experience and skills. Which means I encourage, communicate, guide, teach, and assess students in order to enrich their infrastructures.

I am writing this email with a heavy heart and sadness this morning and requesting help in problem-solving this academic situation. As I read the mission statement for our university which states the primary goal is to “create a dynamic learning environment that promotes a student’s success.” The mission statement further says, “enhance the learning experience” so they can engage with their communities.

I believe the fundamental goal of teaching is to foster, support and respect a safe learning environment for all students. In addition, to be passionate and commitment to give high equality education by providing an equal opportunity. Furthermore, my goal for students to explore, express themselves using effective communication and provide an open ear to listen to every in relationship and partnership in connection with each ELL/Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students to be successful Academic Achievement in learning. I believe learning takes place in many different learning styles, contexts, within a multicultural setting using different age appropriate activities, clues, learning strategies, and updated research through technology

The mission at Zebulon B. Vance High School “is to graduate young adults who are self-directed, intellectually engaged citizens ready for college, career, and life.” Furthermore, it is a communal belief that “all students can learn and achieve at a high level; that an open channel of communication among faculty; students and parents is vital to cultivating student respect, responsibility, and independence; a commitment from all stakeholders creates a safe and nurturing environment through academic performance, extracurricular activities, involvement, positive behavior, and respect for diversity; a secure and supportive climate fosters school pride and citizenship; high academic standards motivate students to realize their highest potentials; cross-curricular instruction and utilization of technology will prepare students for future challenges in work and in life; providing teachers and staff with resources and professional development opportunities promote individual and instructional growth; support from local businesses, universities, and community organizations help students develop life skills and decorum necessary for success in a diverse” world.

Angela Whittekiend, my own mother, graciously allowed me to conduct an interview with her regarding her experience with her first pregnancy. My mom planned both of her pregnancies, she explained that during that time it was just normal to get married and have children. It felt like the right thing to do, so one day my father and her decided to conceive. Neither my mother or my father struggled with infertility, a challenge that 15 percent of parents face, and they were able to easily get pregnant. My mother waited until she missed her period to go into the doctor, at the time they lived on base at the Naval Air Facility in El Centro California, being a military wife they had specific protocol that new mothers needed to follow. The Organization create environments and opportunities where they can explore brighter futures. Through innovative curriculum and project based, hands on learning, students gain the skills they need to overcome barriers and achieve success at the highest levels.

The peaceful sound of the windchimes awakens the night. The infighting sound of the rain pelting on the beige colored roof, with the trees waving their hands like they just don't care, sets the perfect time for an interview. Over by the window, my mother and I pulled up some chairs and sat at the kitchen table by our vibrant fish tank, to start the interview. Since earlier that day I helped out at her school by setting up her classroom with her, as soon as she got home, she relaxed and changed into her black tank top and some pajama bottoms. Wearing that outfit, she decided to be willing enough to answer a few questions about her coming of age moment, her high school experience, and what influenced her to become a teacher.

A driving objective for a teacher is to affect students to advance their expertise in education by finding them the correct course. The teacher should promote positive motivation and inspiration by adhering to legislation and codes of practice which will increase every student’s focus in developing and bridging gaps to display eagerness towards a healthy broad mindset, creative thinking and brighter approach. A mentor should coordinate assessments which will reinforce the ability to perceive individuals’ abilities and knowledge progressions and moreover support them further to boost their learning capacity to acquire a well-established national standards skill set.

Our goal of achieving academic success while instilling hope in students will continue to be our focus. This has been enabled by a team of studious staff and drive to attain set rigorous standards of excellence.

Learning for Life was incorporated in 1991 as a nonprofit organization. We live in a changing world, and the program of Learning for Life was developed to meet the critical needs of our nation’s schools and communities. The program also is designed to support schools and other youth organizations in efforts toward successfully preparing youth on how to handle complexities of society and to help enhance their self-confidence, motivation, and self-worth. Learning for Life programs have influenced national growth for education the program makes academic learning fun and relevant to the child’s real-life situations. The mission statement for the program is to enable young people to become responsible individuals by teaching positive character traits, career development, leadership, and life skills so they can make moral choices and achieve their fullest potential.
